Art Thomason – Fall 2015

Art Thomason – Fall 2015 from art thomason on Vimeo.

From the opening downside whiplashes to half lash smith decade out I knew this was going to be a serious edit. And Art doesn’t disappoint, taking his brakes off seems to have freed up Arts style so much and the flow is so good to watch. Hit play and check out what I think is Art’s best riding to date!

  3. I never regret watching an Art edit. No idea how he finds the time to ride (AND progress AND get smoother) alongside a demanding engineering career. Looking as flowy and smooth as ever!

  4. Killer edit, always good to see how Art’s riding changes over time! His flow is really looking good since the switch.
Random question to anyone who has had experience with it, but I just bought a new house with a backyard finally big enough for a nice sized riding spot. I don’t know anything about what kind of concrete slab guys like Art and Terry had poured though, but that’s the direction I’m hoping to go in. Anyone know if there is a specific type of concrete and surface ideal for the project? I’m assuming a good balance of grip while not being too slow is achievable depending on the specs…

    • Ultraman Zoffy – thanks!!! I used standard concrete for my yard, but I had them space the rebar a little closer together (12″) to prevent any cracks from growing. For the finish, I had them use the big fan blade tool to make it smooth. Then, once it was setting up a little more, we ran a light broom over to give a little texture

      • Awesome, thanks for the advice Art… looking forward to putting in work like you’ve been doing once I get my spot setup! =)

  5. Thanks Rodney, Prasheel, and Todd. You guys are awesome. Rodney, I don’t have to tell you this, but you recited every part of that link perfectly. I think you know it better than I do! Ha!

    • Rad to see Art get some well deserved love on this edit! Living the dream with the backyard spot Art, I was curious sometimes the spot looks dusty in videos, in this one it doesn’t. Is the concrete sealed Art?

      • Thanks Effraim. I did put an acid wash and then a concrete seal on there a year or 2 ago. It really helped with the dust and it repelled water for quick drying. But, it is hard to keep it clean because it is totally flat and dust settles on it. A lot of the dust is what is warn off of my tires. The only way to really get all the dust off is to spend a few hours scrubbing and I am too lazy to do that.
