Big congratulations to Dominik Nekolny who won the 2019 Nora Cup Flatlander of the Year award on Saturday night at the Voodoo jam, presented for Our BMX by Chad Degroot. By all accounts Dom gave a heartfelt speech which I hope someone has recorded when he was presented with the award.

Here’s what Dom had to say about winning the award:

“This cup stands for all the fucking hard work I put in this year, and all the sacrifices I made to get where I’m now today. And believe me it was a lot – I’m kind of glad it happened like this, cause I am not used to get things easy and I really wanted to deserve it.”

  1. Ruling the x-leg pivoting techniques as if they were friggin pinky squeaks , haha …….ALL YEAR long ! Not to mention that wild full bar , switch hand steam , landing wrist twist , IMMEDIATLY having to switch his right hand to the seat , as both feet hit those pegs , landing in a half packer , MID -LINE , too. Dom took best trick type moves ……..to CONSISTENT contest combos ! Well deserved AND earned N.O.R.A. CUP victory !

  2. A deserving winner, & not taking anything away from Dom, he’s an awesome rider, but Alex’s been around a long time, has pretty much done it all. I’d like to see him win 1, one day.
