  1. Grant, the guy in Dane’s video was Hamilton Abe. Similar mindset to Pete in regard to simplicity, directional flow/going with the bike and finishing circles.

When I saw the video had been posted I gasped and spilt my coffee.

When Pete did the pivot from the backwards rope/time into the backwards backyard I shouted “no!”.

Wow. What can I say. The rewards of such discipline, talent and focus are amazing to watch.

Because of lightness, 95% or riders have a ‘bike follows me’ style. I really like the ‘me follows bike’ style that a few riders like Pete and Dane have. It reminds me of the past when bikes were heavier.

Good work Pete. It’s inspiring me to get off my ass. First I’ll finish what’s left of this coffee and watch your video again though…

    This.

  3. In-fucking-sane!

Shout out to Chad and S&M for helping Pete out. His riding is polar opposite to Chad’s in a sense, but similar in that they can both drop a 2 minute once a year, and everyone in flatland (and hopefully in bmx) will watch it.

    So good!

  4. @lachlan – good point, through the years Canada has brought so many heavy hitters! I wouldn’t even want to start a list as i’m sure to miss someone.

Another point maybe getting ahead of things, if this was a park/street edit with riding of this kind of calibre Peter would be getting paid. Hopefully in the near future, riders will start getting a lil’ return for amazing parts such as this. Really stoked S&M are stepping up their flatland game.

Flatland seems to be on the up, even now regularly appearing on TCU. Which can only be a good thing for the future. The sport is reaching a bigger audience.

  5. While it may or may not be the hardest move in the video, my personal favorite is the backwards facing steamroller ideas. I simply think it looks dope and is really creative. Pete, any words about your shoes?

  6. Jim- I generally go through more shoes than bike parts it just depends on the tricks and the type of pivots. Toe pivots or heel pivots aren’t usually hard on shoes it’s full pivots that can be bad. Tricks like the last one in the video are especially bad where you can wreck shoes really quickly if you’re riding a lot.
