It has been a few good weeks for the flatland archives here on FM! And today a real treat from the japanese flatland archives, and the history of the King of Ground contest. The Proseed A and B videos by Juicy Vision has to go down as one of the best contest videos ever, featuring York Uno, Hiroya Morizaki, a young Moto Sasaki, Martti Kuoppa, Viki Gomez, Michael Steingraeber, Shintaro Misawa and many more. Springtime is here, and as we all look forward to the summertime. The contests are more frequent, everyone is getting more riding time, and the content on FM grows.
It’s not often we kick off month with a Must Watch edit, but we did that in May of this year, and boy was it a treat!
Japanese flatland legend, Hiroya Morizaki teamed up with Taichi Kunieda to drop these two brand new amazing back wheel lines. So great to see Hiroya is still pushing hard, hitting the rewind again!
Nice upload from the japanese archives today by koburi200, from the tricks I’m guessing this was filmed 1997-98 ish. Rumors has the feel of the beginning steps of the japanese scene becoming the mecca for flatland today, featuring York Uno, Ryoji Yammamoto, Hiroya Morizaki, Akira Okamura and many more.
For this weeks throwback we go back 2001, and this amazing Flatland Manifesto KOG Finals edit featuring Mike S, Viki Gomez, Yammer, Akira Okamura, Shintaro Misawa, Hiroya Morizaki and many more, so many styles! Definitely worth a watch!
Nice upload from the japanese archive today. Rumours 2 dropped in 2000 featuring the likes of Takashi Ito, Takahiro Enoki, Kotaro Tanaka, Hiroya Morizaki, Ryoji Yammamoto, and many more!
Today we have a real treat from James Smith, who has produced a directors cut of the “Run” DVD, he explains all below! Stickied at the top of the site for the day! Thank you James!
“I originally filmed this back 2012 for a the DVD “RUN BMX” it was edited and produced in house by the guys at 430. Years later I found the raw footage on a hard drive and I was keen to do my own version and do a directors cut.
I only ever saw the finished DVD once when it came out, and made sure not to watch it again before editing to avoid influence etc.
It was an amazing experience being in japan 2 weeks filming and witnessing some amazing riding 1st hand.
The edit I have done is light hearted and not to worried about the duplicated angles and tricks.”
