Effraim Catlow: BMX Banter Podcast

It’s not often I promote myself on the site. A few weeks ago I caught up with Jon Dowker and Anthony Berardi for a chat for an episode of the BMX Banter podcast.

We discuss my roots in riding, the U.K. scene, why I run Flatmattersonline, competing across the globe for thirty years, my new edit, plus my views on so many rider related topics such as Instagram vs Videoparts, and much more.

Episode 79: Flatmattersonline Exclusive with Effraim Catlow

After two weeks filming/editing the awards last Sunday I went out for a session right after presenting the Flatmattersonline Year End awards and had a feel good session where everything on the bike felt good.
I had a new idea whilst I was enjoying the session, and as I got nearer to hitting the line I decided to put the phone down and capture it and hopefully get the FM exclusives rolling again.
I have been messing with forward ankle buster variations for a while now, and happy to tick this Fire hydrant turbine to forwards ankle buster rebate off the list. Some good motivation for me now I have some more free time after the awards.

Let’s get these exclusives rolling again, next exclusive drops on Wednesday.

Episode 57: Flatmattersonline Exclusive with Jean-Michel Chauvel

YO!!

We are back, episode 57 of the Flatmattersonline exclusives. It is pretty fitting today I am wearing a King of Concrete tee, ep.57 features Jean-Michel Chauvel from Guilliaume Le Conquerant over in Normandie, France just across the water from me here in Southsea, UK. Jean-Michel is a big supporter of the King of Concrete contest, and competed this year in the eFise, MOC, and AFA online contests, and I love this guys riding.

He has a unique flow to how he puts the tricks together, I would call these “pieces” of tricks put together in one clip with his unique pirouette style, that’s figure skating like. This is what flatland is all about, get out there and get creative. Jean-Michel is in his 50’s and showing no signs of slowing down, stoked he stepped up for episode 57.

Merci Jean-Michel for stepping up!!!

We have definitely slowed down as we approach 60 episodes, if you have a clip send it in. Don’t be shy, instructions on how-to take part are after Jean-Michel’s clip….

Whose got episode 58?

Mark Kuhlmann – King of Concrete Hype

Mark Kuhlmann arrived yesterday from Ontario, Canada for the King of Concrete competition this weekend at Southsea Skatepark. Mark was kind enough to drop an xft halfpacker combo he’s been working on for the contest for a lil’ King of Concrete hype. Mark is looking dialled, hitting all his contest combos numerous times last night.
Joe Cicman arrives today from Ohio, USA. I have a few things planned with all those riders in town, so stay tuned. Flatmatters!
