Who remembers this one? Martti Kuoppa freestylin’ at his indoor training spot in Helsinki, Finland right before the 2007 Red Bull Circle of Balance. I still go back to this one ever so often, and always gets me hyped to ride.
The big news this week, Martti Kuoppa relaunched the iconic brand, Junglerider after a ten year hiatus. It’s a no brainer to dedicate this week’s Throwback to the man I called “The boss”. Watch this part back, this would be a Must Watch without a doubt if this dropped today, timeless flatland and many of these switches remain untouched….
This weeks throwback is dedicated to the boss, Martti Kuoppa following his Freestyle Tactics Interview. His solo DVD, Moments that dropped in 2004 is still a video that I go back, and watch start to finish regularly. Treat yourself!
Looking back to 2011, and amazing time period for me personally riding wise sharing progression videos with Martti Kuoppa and you the flatland community at home. I just watching this “Nora Cup Loser” edit that still eight years on is a banger. Everything hits hard in this one, go watch this again and get hyped for todays session.
Today Martti Kuoppa celebrates his 40th birthday, and it seems like the perfect day to celebrate one of the best to ever ride a flatland bike. In my opinion, MK managed to do the impossible. He managed to bond the artistic side with the athletic training side you need for contest riding, creating brand new tricks in the video parts and bringing them to contests at the same time and ride often flawlessly and take home titles (3 x X games, World Championships 2002, and so on) during this time period around 2000/2003 we have the intrikat parts that he contributed that are admired and untouched to this day.
During my time competing against Martti, I never felt like I was competing against him we were sharing new tricks and styles and pushing the motivation for the next contest where we would share again. I always go back to his 2002 Worlds run in Koln as one of the best runs of all time, this run has everything. Much respect Martti, and thank you for all you have done for flatland and continue to do so with MOC. I call him the boss for a reason.
This weeks throwback is dedicated to Martti Kuoppa, who would have known that back in 1998 when this Intrikat Linkt video dropped that MK would become a Video contest organiser with Master of Creativity and now it is possible to earn money out of video riding. Many of you will know this legendary section, but nevertheless it is certainly worth rewatching. Loved the Camo theme as well as the riding of course.
Hard to believe it was three years ago Martti Kuoppa dropped this “Nora Cup Loser” which still hits hard to this day! With Martti judging next weekend at the Real City Spin this seems like as good a time as any to have a re-up of the boss doing his thing! Respect!
With the news from the BMX Cologne event official today, it is the perfect time to re-up one of the best flatland runs of all time. Martti Kuoppa’s World Championship winning run from 2002! 3 minutes of originality!
Feels like yesterday I posted this video from 2009 for the first time! So much to still to this day drool over, the kickflip circle k line, kickflip to crackpacker at high speed and much more! This is well worth a rewatch! Groundtactics!
I’m sure yesterdays clip from Martti put a spring in everyone step. This weeks Throwback is dedicated to the boss, Flatground 2002/2003. One of the dopest contests in the history of flatland.
