The heart of summer brings one of the most prestigious events, the BMX Cologne event celebrated its 30th anniversary! Dominik Nekolny came back swinging in 2014 to take the title that eluded him the year before, this was a massive win for Dom!
It is so great when you see a flatlander really show himself in an edit. George Manos for sure is a different breed, so many tricks within this new dark edit that have never been done before, and most certainly without pegs. The intensity from 3:00 really stoodout for me, and what George is doing breaks new ground.
Here are a few examples: No handed backwards facing nose manual at 3:00! Xft nose to indian spinning karl at 3:07? No handed x-ft pedal karl turbine no handed xft pedal karl at 3:28! And that ender at 3:41, it really is something to have less, and come out with more. This to me speaks volumes on Georges riding! Massive respect!
Moto’s video series with Jimalog just keep getting better, the opening two backwards backpacker themed combos had me hitting rewind, not to mention that last combo! Hit play already!
The BMX Cologne is one of the most important contests on the calendar, as well as featuring Dominik Nekolny’s winning run in the Pro Class, don’t sleep on Michele Maiolani’s winning AM run!
Qualifying second in the Am class, Michele had an amazing flawless final run to take the win! He dropped one of the tricks of the contest in his run, a bar grab pedal one handed 5 coasted across the contest floor with ease, jaw dropping! Search his name on the sidebar of the site if you are unsure who he is. This guy is the real deal, such a calm rolling style! This guy could make the jump to Pro Class with ease. Check his run above.
One of the stories of the BMX Cologne weekend was this guy! Matthieu Bonnecuelle, what a weekend for him! Check out this insane no handed whiplash during the bonus round that helped him move ahead of James White for a podium spot! Thanks to Martin at Global flat for filming this!
It is winter right now in Brazil, but that isn’t slowing down Mateus Beckmann any at all. Towards the end of this edit I was hitting the rewind several times to rewatch what he did. Look out for the rollback seat decade half bar flip at around 5:57, and at 6:33 backwards two footed peg manual whopper/halfbarflip! But there is so much more! Definitely go hit play and watch this, and get stoked for your session today!
So many web edits these days, the TSB crew out of Finland always go the extra mile to stand out! From Aleksi Ritsilä’s silky smooth flat/street part, through to the likes of George Manos doing his thing, Martti Kuoppa killing whiplashes, watch his last line! And of course, Erico Melo’s part, TSB2014 is pure gold! Normally I would add times and stuff of standout tricks, but you need to watch the whole movie! It’s not too often we see a full predominately based flatland movie anymore. Thank you Julius for making this amazing video for us all!
