Throwback Thursdays with Andrew Faris!

Andrew’s name has come various times this past week, so this weeks Throwback is dedicated to one of the best riders to ever ride a flatland bike. Check out his bonus section from inTRIKat’s BACKGROUND by Chad Johnston, DVD, 2008, with five years of contest footage from 1996 to 2000.

  1. @Johnm I think Jamie still works and own a part of Macneil bikes over in Vancouver.

@George Manos yeah Andrew was way ahead. I saw him ride in person a few times in Vancouver back in ’95-96 and he was so good!

    • Like I said Andrew was/is definitely one of the best to ever ride a flatland bike. Still love the 3 flip entry to halfpacker, people will look at the whoppers and half cab whoppers but the way he condensed his combos down to just the absolute neccesary. Was way ahead of the time. Great job by Chad capturing all this rad footage.

  2. I talked to Andrew fairly regularly back in 2009-2010 when he was working near my house. One of the things Andrew mentioned he regretted about quitting flatland was not doing a last video part with the tricks he’d been working on, but hadn’t filmed. I know there are probably a lot of people who would’ve really wanted to see that part including myself.

  3. Ran into Steve Roy at the Rad Reunion two years ago. He was just in the works of moving to Calgary from Sherwood Park. He has a wife and kids and I don’t think he rides anymore although he does have a bike and had it at the reunion.
