Viki Gomez 4th place – iBMXff World Championships NASS

Viki Gomez 4th place iBMXff World Championships NASS from James White on Vimeo.

After winning the BMX Cologne contest the week before, Viki wasn’t able to get back to back wins and had to settle for 4th place. Big shoutout to James White for filming all the final runs, you can now watch them all here on FM! I will have a repo up on the site in the next few days. For now enjoy all the runs!

  1. @Aaron Frost – a few too many misses and touches to be on the podium. It wasn’t his day this time round. Have to judge what you see on the day.

  2. Thanks a lot Aaron! I honestly I m happy with the 4th place. It took years to get these tricks dialed. But sometimes you can kill it in a contest with sick riding and some other times you have to play defensive riding. That`s what I did and that´s how it felt that day. Not at all my favourite kind of riding though! But with the wind situation and the stress to do perfect to have chances to be high positioned I admit I got nervous and scared. I really learnt a lesson that day! I just cannot ride just for contests because our time on earth is limited so everyday I rather spend the session trying new stuff than hating my riding everyday doing the same over and over. I know it is stupid cause I could have more chances to score higher but I don’t ride for winning, contests, or for the judges. I ride for creativity and by doing this sometimes you can kill it an contest and go home happy after doing something new 🙂 The 2 sides of the same coin. I can’t promise I will never again will ride defensive but I hope to have a stronger mind to avoid this in the future. Competing is a game and it is all about the mindset you have and how you look at it. Make your contest`s runs your warm up runs and take your riding to the next level in the rest of the session. This way riding will always be fun!

  3. Well said….and if you were holding back….Shame on you Viki!!!! Kidding of course. In my opinion you could have touched more and it still doesn’t matter when you pull tricks that hard. Period. This isn’t the AFA back in the eighties is it? Flawless runs don’t mean a thing when the difficulty doesn’t compare to a competitors. Maybe I missed something.
