  1. I’ve been watching these voodoo jam edits/ interview/ hype for some time. and a few things have been bothering me.

    1) SOB claims that this event is for the flatlanders – WRONG.

First of all there isn’t enough practice space for everyone . and since when is loud music/ screaming crowds and an annoying guy jumping around ninja kicking the riders conducive to flatland?

    2) I havent seen anything progressive (tricks-wise) in these videos yet. the only progressive thing was dominiks hype video. THATS IT.

    3) SOB claims that this contest is somehow a cornerstone of flatland . and it pushes flatland forward. HOW?
At the end of the day it has little to no impact on flatland. People like me , continue to ride flatland regardless. so a few people in louisana know what flatland is now. so what?

    4) The underwear girls were kind of good looking from far. but even they looked a little too homey for me.

    5) Who profits from this event? cmon lets be honest. no one is going to do an event like this at a loss.

    6) i honestly think most people just want to go there and show off. get their 5 minutes in the limelight.

7)If i was just a fan of the sport (and not a flatlander) and i saw TA doing the exact same link year after year. i might think flatland is kind of lame and boring.

  2. 8) but then again americans enjoy watching baseball and NASCAR. as long as u give them some alcohol and junk food. They are easily entertained.

  3. Therapy. You rock bro! Thanks for the advice. We could use your help next year to improve things and make Voodoo better. You can click on my name for my email and let me know. Most people that post use their names and emails so they can stand by what they post.

When is your comp gonna be or Jam?
I Would love to attend it and ninja kick you in the fucking head.

  4. Therapy is right. We need to be more like a no-name, anonymous shady internet nobodys who wants to talk shit on an event that he didn’t go to. Therapy is much better at supporting flatland and hanging out with riders through his computer screen. I love looking at things that I hate and making long drawn out paragraphs about how flatland sucks and Voodoo Jam sucks and yet, I love to continuously look and post on these exact things that I think suck and aren’t progressive. I wish I lived where Therapy lived because I am sure there are tons of pictures and videos of people having a good time riding flatland, something that Therapy always does.

  5. Therapy doesn’t get the effort it takes to put this on.

I think the contest is cool, although I’ve never been. It’s fun and is built for the spotlight, not the best bangers, and that’s cool.

    No stressing on it.

    I like it.

You are correct though, these videos are showing how the North American pro scene is shriveling up…(or severely underground) because Terry Adams looking at the judges during side squeaks was tired in 2006.

Where the new North American pros at?!!?

But I will never ever rag on a contest because ANY contest is better than no contest and that contest looks fun as hell.
Keep it up Scotty O! Much love.

  6. Wow. Notice how these people havent adressed a single point I’ve made?!!?

Lol @ relapse making assumptions. and lol @ SOB making physical threats.

Lets keep it civil guys, we’re all flatlanders.

and TA looking at the judges during sidesqueaks is incredibly played out. and stupid. and corny.

  7. 1) “SOB claims that this event is for the flatlanders – WRONG.First of all there isn’t enough practice space for everyone . and since when is loud music/ screaming crowds and an annoying guy jumping around ninja kicking the riders conducive to flatland?” There was a prejam the day before. A annoying guy jumping around ninja kicking is still more relevant that a No-Name internet troll. Nobody is going aw therapy you have done so much for flatland, you act like you speak from experience, yet have none and done nonthing.

    2) I havent seen anything progressive (tricks-wise) in these videos yet. the only progressive thing was dominiks hype video. THATS IT. “Its progressive in the sense that the AM’s competing are doing new tricks for their skill level, they are progressing and becoming better riders.

    3) “SOB claims that this contest is somehow a cornerstone of flatland . and it pushes flatland forward. HOW? At the end of the day it has little to no impact on flatland. People like me continue to ride flatland regardless. so a few people in louisana know what flatland is now. so what?” Its a corner stone in flatland because it was one of the bigger US contests in the last few years.

    4) “The underwear girls were kind of good looking from far. but even they looked a little too homey for me.” Congrats.

    5) “Who profits from this event? cmon lets be honest. no one is going to do an event like this at a loss.” The event happened, no one is worried about a loss. They want to actually do something for flatland. Get a bunch of people together and ride bikes.

    6) “i honestly think most people just want to go there and show off. get their 5 minutes in the limelight.” That may or may not be true, They still have been in the limelight more than you. Mr-Anonymous-internet rider, U mad that you cant be in the limelight?

7)”If i was just a fan of the sport (and not a flatlander) and i saw TA doing the exact same link year after year. i might think flatland is kind of lame and boring.” But yet you would keep watching it, and if you do think its boring move on to something else?

And as for SOB “making a physical threat” oh please, quit being a pussy Therapy. Your points are now brought up. You can think they are good or bad, whatever, nobody is gonna convince you otherwise anyways, and since you are such an expert at holding jams and contests lets see your jam in a couple years. I am not gonna say Voodoo is the BEST JAM EVER (it is a good jam/contest though), not arguing that, but this is why we progress improve and try and do better. they way you offer your ideas are destructive, not constructive.

  8. I’ve been riding 2 years and Prolly been to more contests than therapy. So I guess even as a novice I’m able to say the progression of flatland is not always seen during the contest run … In practice, At the jam u might see the pros trying a sick new variation of a link or a trick that they dont throw in the run … Because they are competing for money and consistency does matter … So if u want to see the progression you should show up.

  9. I 100% agree with Therapy (Ciaran Perry?). No one should ever try to organize flatland events where there are crowds, music, announcers, or girls present. Flatland should only be performed by solitary males in large, empty parking lots and should only be viewed on the internet.

Shame on you, Scott O’Brien, shame on you. And equal amounts of shame on those who traveled to New Orleans on their own dime and had fun riding with others.

  10. I dont beleive in a back and forth debate. as i’ve already said my bit. wether u agree or disagree is ur choice.

one last thing i want to add : this event makes a complete mockery of flatland.

SOB what audience are you trying to appeal to? seriously?

And what do you get out of running around and trying to distract the riders. he tries to draw more attention to himself, than the actual riders in the contest.
you can say what you want about how hard this event was to organise or how happy it made everyone or whatever but
Please dont say he’s doing it for the flatlanders. or that event is built around accomadating the flatlanders needs in mind.

if he did, he would have the event in a bigger venue obviously. thats common sense.

  11. Well said Burd.

    Therapy
If what I am doing is making a mockery of Flatland then what the hell is that you are doing? Put your real name on your comments or email me with your real info and lets discuss like normal people. Im always up for a discussion to improve Voodoo. Many riders have has discussion with me to help improve it.

    Im done with this troll.

  12. If Mark Kuhlmann is the future of North American Pros..we are all effed. But soo dope he won am!! Hyped for the dude.

  13. Dang what a sour-puss! Dude we all had a great time. Thanks for sharing, I’m going to get some new handlebars now.
