Woody Itson’s new Hutch Trickstar!

Rick Moliterno at Standard Bykes made up this one off new version of the Hutch Trickstar for Woody Itson to ride. This may not mean a lot to all you new school heads, but it did to me as I grew up riding on this frame. Great to see a company like Standard do this for the OG’s.

  1. Really Cool! The Trick Star was a bike I always wanted as a kid but sadly could never afford here in Belgium. Nice of Rick to do this for Woody.
I guess you could ask for a custom from then? No patent?

    • I’m guess Hutch is long out of business. It was called Hutchins or a while after. I believe the Trickstar was Woody’s design, and as its for his own personal use rather than gain, theres no issue with it. Standard do make custom frames, so sick! Rick knows whats up!

  2. Your out of the loop E, Hutch is back as of 2008, check out there site.
The owner has been shutting down anyone doing imitation stuff… but since this is a custom one off there shouldn’t be any issues.

    • @Raso – I know somebody brought it out. I met the guy, but nothing ever seemed to come of it! No team, no bikes in the shops, so what happened with Hutch? Whats the website address?

@John Yull – That would be awesome huh!!!

  3. Sweet frame nice job Moliterno can build literally anything , similar to Rick Allisons Standard Bykes custom Hutch Trick Star job , cheers Johann may do a custom build for a future project on mine though 🙂

  4. From what I remember reading on vintagebmx, the guy wants to make some quality oldschool style frames and such but hasn’t found the right fabricator yet (…or money?). The hyping has been going on for years but so far he’s only made stems, pedals, pads.. and the stuff is real expensive.
He also went after people (legally) who were making replica parts, including Kappa (http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/kappa/) who were making replica/retro style frames and shut them down..
That’s why Rick has to be careful with these builds.

  5. @Byke Larry Bull quit in 1990 riders don’t quit , quitters don’t ride , Woody Itson is a legend total legend and at 49 years old still rides and is a pioneer of riding flatland ,ramps, skatepark etc waayyy before any of us , think he is a very deserving candidate don’t you . Who mentioned pink ?? not me mang.

  6. Rick Moliterno can build anything to the riders specifications literally, i’ve seen as many of you have seen the pictures of some of his builds they are unreal they come at a price which considering the fabrication and skill that goes into them is well worth it , 16″, 20″ ,24″, 26″ bikes etc etc these are made to the riders specifications you design he builds any geometric designs you have he can produce a top quality finished product its his passion 48 yrs old the guys been there, seen it, done it nuff experience within the industry , true temper, Ox platinum , 4130 Cro Mo tubing etc etc the metal used is in the trust of the builder/welder and personally along with S & M and Chris Moeller i rate Rick and Standard Bykes as the most influential BMX bike companies of all time , they paved the way ,big props to the guys 🙂

  7. I wish I still had my Trickstar I’ve been bidding on them on eBay does anyone know how to get a hold of the guy who made that frame I would love to have a similar to a Trickstar but larger frame made
