Old School Sundays Part 1 with Scotty Freeman

Holeshot 1987. For many years, Holeshot was the biggest contest in the UK. Located at the Sobell Centre, Islington London. In 87, Scotty Freeman came over and shredded. Check out his run right here.

  1. I don’t remember the whiplash, steamroller, and elephant glide being ’87 tricks. If they were then he was ahead of the game and BMX Plus was still showing ancient tricks in “How To”, which was my only connection with the world of freestyle.

  2. After Kevin Jones showed his stuff in the Austin AFA contest 87 where he got second place behind Rick Moliterno in expert class I saw people at the same contest trying to do Kevin Jones tricks after they saw him. At the next contest everybody was a Kevin Jones clone..lol

  3. I don’t how you can ride of those Skyway bike back then,,they must weigh about 40 pounds and to much flex in those tuff mags with bad breaks. In those Skyways were long also. Well anyways either that was late 87 or early 88 of Freeman.

  4. That was 87. Dave, I was at that same 87 Masters in Austin. Those Skyways, yeah…remember Jones was on Skyway and doing all those tricks on that pile. I don’t know how any of us rode those old bikes…they mostly all sucked!
