Throwback Thursdays with Dan Rigby

It’s always amazing to go back through the archives of Flatmattersonline and look at previous articles, interviews and edits and whilst I was searching for a good Throwback for this week. I came across a Dan Rigby Interview I did back in February 2009, with a edit that still stands up today, I said it back in 2009, Dan Rigby was so underrated. I’m lucky enough to have been competing in the X Trials/X Games era and saw a lot of what Dan could do in the contest arena and practise, but this edit is next level and it was filmed in 2003!

Go watch this now and look out for the last dump truck full body varial to death truck, that I think still to this day is one of the best back wheel tricks ever done. Let’s discuss this in the comments section.

  1. This is what Flatland is about (in my opinion)…controlled & flowing. No herky-jerky, momentum pumping. 4 pegs, 2 brakes, front & back wheel styles…sadly, this is a dying art and there are few of this kind left in the world.

  2. I think Dan was maybe the most underrated rider ever. The stuff that he did and stuff that i’ve seen I could never believe. Super original and humble to boot. Great guy and rider. Thx E for putting this up.

  3. O.M.G !! HOW did I miss THIS edit of him online ? 2003 ?! 2003 ?! BIG-E is correct ……………….this could of dropped…..TODAY , and STILL banged peoples doors ! Always been into his riding since the first video I saw of him on that RED basic bikes frame in late 1996 , SO many Hammers in this , just as Josh stated also , FLOWING style -TIMES 7 ! Not to mention the degree of DIFFICULTY in EVERY line is HIGH , not sure , does he ride at all anymore ? Those fudge packer body varials , staple gun -FULL bar switches , his SIGNATURE back packer pull up , body varial to right cross steam , etc , etc , so MANY hammers in this……………………………..would RIP for M.O.C. today !! 2003 ?! WOW !
