Kevin Nikulski literally grew up at the BMX Cologne contest, from a young age he was the kid in the crowd and this year he threw down in qualifiers and got himself a deserved position in the finals and took home the tenth place spot.

Qualifying first and having to ride last after Matthias Dandois proved to be a little bit too much pressure for Ryo Katagiri but no doubt valuable experience, this kid at 17 years old and made a huge impression on everyone at BMX Cologne. Look out everyone this kid is coming up…
Julien Baran – 1st Place AM / BMX Cologne 2018
This year’s BMX Cologne contest was all about the fresh faces coming through the ranks, and one of the stories of the weekend. Julien Baran made the trip to Cologne with his family and at only 12 years old threw down in finals to keep hold of the first place qualifying spot. To win the BMX Cologne contest at 12 years old is an unbelievable achievement, this kids future is a bright one!
Dominik Nekolny wins BMX Cologne


Dominik Nekolny took the win at BMX Cologne for the second year in a row with an amazing flawless performance. The finals was absolutely electric, with Matthias Dandois throwing also another flawless run to take the second place spot. Matthias has yet to touch in 2018, I will keep saying how incredible that is, just wow!! Young buck Yu Katagiri is the real deal and rocked the flatland arena to take the third place spot in one of the most fierce finals I have ever seen. Jean William Prevost took the 4th spot, with homie Benjamin Hudson rounding out the top 5.
Julien Baran wins AM Class – BMX Cologne


The 12 year old French flatland prodigy held onto the top spot with an amazing run in the finals to take the BMX Cologne flatland title back to Normandie, France. Julien was followed on the podium by Peter Miklosi out of Hungary, Timo Lorrian also from France took the third place podium spot.

Ryo Katagiri takes the top spot today going into tomorrows final, closely followed by Matthias Dandois, and Dominik Nekolny in an mazing qualification round today at the Jugend park. Top 12 through to finals tomorrow.
Julien Baran qualifies 1st in AM / Irina Sadovnik wins Girls Final – BMX Cologne

12 year old French prodigy, Julien Baran took the top spot in today’s AM Class qualification, hitting ice cream flip to time machine mid run. Top ten make it through to tomorrows final. Irina Sadovnik won the girl class final pulling off a smooth x-handed whiplash during her run. Congratulations to Julien and Irina!

BMX Cologne this weekend!

Today I’m travelling to the annual BMX Cologne event at the Jugendpark in Cologne, Germany. This event always gives me so many memories of competing, but also judging over the years. Hope to see you there for a great weekend of flatland riding and good times off and on the bike. Look out for plenty of coverage over the weekend and next week.
