Chase Gouin is back riding!

“Three decades of Flatland and Chase Gouin attempts to rise from the ashes of chronic mental and physical diseases with the help of his ‘whole-e trinity’ of bikes and a ‘heavenly light’ from behind the curtain call. Only time will tell if he can re-ignite the fires of hell on wheels.”

Great news published on the ART Magazine website yesterday, straight from the man himself!

I am “trying” to ride on some days when i feel it’s possible, but i am still sick from the effects of 5 years mold exposure. This means that my immune system is still weak and therefore i cannot ride at 100% force… maybe not even 30%. I must wait for the results of another DNA test which will hopefully show some lower levels of fungus in my intestines that has destroyed the good bacteria. I also must end this program that helped me stop taking the pain killer pills, so i will suffer more bad withdrawals very soon. The separate issue of Crohn’s disease is in a state of remission which is a good sign, but this damage to the small intestine will never really go away and may get worse in the future. I can only take care of myself and hope i don’t need a surgical tube and bag to replace the intestine. But i try to do some basic tricks to get the movements back. My goal is to eventually become a good flatlander and be able to do all my tricks from the past plus learn new ones…and of course invent some small variations. I thank everyone for their support, because without the donations and positive thoughts of riders, maybe i would never make it. As soon as I feel confident enough, i will release a short video edit. Live to Ride…Ride to SURVIVE!
Sincerely,
Chase.

  1. the real man of action, CHASE GOUIN ! 3 decades of flatland ! that’s something newschoolers will never achieve

  2. the only time i saw him ride in person was during a KOC in southsea a few years back, he was there to support a bike company he started. he was doing crazy multiple whiplashes in various ways !!!

  3. Julien Chase has never started his own bike company. That KOC in Southsea was in 1992 he was riding for Homeless James Shepherds company.

  4. Howard, that was in southsea in 1999, he had a prototype frame out that he was supporting called the ‘nothing’, and by that time his company was called Gouin Bycicle co. he quickly left ‘gouin bycicle’ and OG bike took the design of the ‘nothing’ for on of their frame. So yes he had plan to start his own bike company but for some reason i ignore he never brought it very far. i’m not even sure his prototype went into production as a Gouin Bike Co. frame. But it certainly did as an OG bike frame.

  5. Siouthsea 1999 ? don’t remember that, so he planned to start his own bike company not support a bike company he started ,i recall Gouin bikes but never saw one maybe it never took off ,well glad he’s still with us .The tricks in E CLIPS have never been duplicated and Ells vids stuff he is the best flatland rider ever forget all this new wack stuff all looks the same unoriginal and boring Chase makes it interesting and layed of the hitchiker and backpacker route in respect of Kevin and not to overshadow him ,Chase should be knighted forget the haters pure jealousy dudes a legend he has nothing to proove now .

  6. I really love today’s riding even if everyone (me included !) is doing just about the same links…but theres so much going on in the 90s era, trickwise, old videos are starting to inspire me more and more…we’ll see if i manage to include some old stuff in the new one, probably not ! hahah ! but someone else will….

  7. very good to hear!!!!! love hearing or seeing an edit in the future with he’s story. I think passion can cure the most things… GIVE IT UP FOR CHASE G-unit
