Another week, another Giannis Caternllis edit to get you motivated, staying on the brakeless tip and stationary trick direction for the most part. Really liked the stationary one handed two footed steam to stationary half hiker at 2:05, but there’s a lot more. Don’t just my word for it, hit play.
With the annual Flatmatters year end awards dropping this week, I wanted to show a previous winning edit for this weeks Throwback. And I got stuck on watching this “Pete Olsen is awesome”, which won the reader choice for edit of the year back in 2015. Go re watch this Must Watch!
First clip of the year for young buck Shiyu Orikawa, really nice opposite one handed backwards spinning steam step to spinning crackpacker with the hand off the whole time, dope!
Back to regular updates after the Flatmattersonline year end award winners were announced Monday night. Just one post this Wednesday morning and its a good one that you all need to watch out of the underrated Gonzalo Bellanti. Gonzalo just dropped this instagram compilation edit filmed out in Dubai and it is full of tech gems front and back wheel. Don’t sleep on this…
First up it’s time to announce the editorial choice in the 2017 Flatmattersonline yearend awards followed by the Reader Choice, holding the awards each year I feel is a important thing to do for the culture of flatland and show some love back to the sport that has given me so much over the years.
Congratulations to all of the winners, and the nominees. Much respect to you all and all you do to contribute to flatland, it was a great year with a lot of twists and turns. Going to be interesting to see what 2018 brings. I wanted to display the medals tonight with the winners, but there is a slight delay that I’m not in control of. I will be contacting the winners shortly for addresses and interviews. Without further a due…

This weeks OSS is dedicated to the Chairman, Martin Aparijo who is still riding to this day and was shredding at the One Love Jam in Newport Beach, in So Cal yesterday. We go back to the GT Demo Tape and McGoo interviewing him about tricks such as No handed Miami hop hops. Enjoy this trip down memory lane.
York Uno puts a lot of work into the grassroots flatland scene in japan, really enjoyed this new Kaitaya BMX Kids School edit. And an interesting technique to staple scuffing tricks such as the caboose and lard yard on a small bike, worth watching.
Decade Anthology: Group B from scott powell on Vimeo.
Scott Powell’s decade onslaught back in the summer of last year was mind blowing. Scott is the process of releasing three edits that document the clips, today he just dropped Group B of the Decade Anthology. What is your favourite clip?
Giannis Caternellis had some bike problems last week, so rather than not ride he took off his sprocket chain and pegs and most the most of the good weather in Greece. Hit play for some nice pegless skills, stationary brakeless and pegless whiplash plus the last trick pegless is crazy. Go watch this!
