Golden footage from the archives around the 2010 period, from one of the best to ever do it. Non other than Ross South, double rolaids, check, double straddle-ronis, check, backwards xft-ed hitch jugglers, its all here! Ross is one of the masters of feathering the brake, a technique sadly lost and overlooked in the brakeless era!
i’m so thoroughly amazed by the one-footed Pinky Squeaks at 3:10, the amount and confluence of strength, balance and timing cannot be overstated!!!
M U S T W A T C H …….all of this . Ross Smith’s stuff is as wild and YEEEEAAARS ahead of it’s time as ever . He’s one of the GREATS in BMX Flatland and always will be . Thank you for posting this , Big- E !
Wow, so good!! That nose manual was epic, not something I was expecting.
Damn. Skills off the Richter E!
Totally, Ross is on another level!
Ross never fails to impress! One of the most notable flatland riders of all time no doubt!
It was a great time going to a local nj or pa local afa event and you’d see Ross, jay jones, craig lepage and sean leslie riding. Ross is light years ahead i had footage (but lost it uggh) he was doing stuff in 1992 which was mindboggling.
I was there in person for that nose wheelie at an OKC Jam. What a memory!
Awesome
Ross, if you read this, please try and dig up the backwards facing/riding rolaid clip if it exists. Legend has it you did it in the early-mid 90’s, lord knows a lot of us tried, fell hard, and gave up on it. And please keep posting old AFA (or other) comp footage you have. I hadn’t seen a lot of what you’ve posted the last month, and I’ve seen most of it, the Large Ray tapes, and countless unknowns filming comps. Even then, hadn’t seen 2/3 of what you posted from old comps in the past month or so.
