Old School Sundays with Tommy Simpson
Back on the Old School tip as I get ready to fly to California tomorrow. Let’s go back to the legendary AFA Masters in Carson, California at the Velodrome ’88. New England rider, Tommy Simpson was so underrated back in the day, loved this guys style since the 80’s and through the Radazine’ era. The double whiplash to elephant glide line at 1:24 is awesome!
Old School Sundays with John Huddleston
Let’s get back to OSS! Love this run from John Huddleston at the AFA Finals, Kansas in 1988. The way John links things up is absolutely awesome, well worth a watch!
Old School Sundays with Gerry Smith
As it’s our 11th anniversary this week here on Flatmattersonline, I figured this weeks OSS would be dedicated to a run that helped inspire me during my younger years. This run from the 88 AFA Masters in Kansas was talked about for years and indeed we are still talking about here on FM in 2019. So ahead of the time, Gerry Smith! Hyped to watch this again this morning..
Old School Sundays with Kevin Jones
Plenty of talk in the comments section this week about the godfather of flatland, Kevin Jones. And its been a while since an Old School Sundays update, so lets get back to it with the main man himself.
Old School Sundays with Ryuji Hora
After only being able to read about Ryuji Hora’s riding in the Plus or Freestyle’, ts great now in the modern era that you can google riders names and find footage from the archives. Pretty Incredible really. Ryuji rips, check his run from the legendary 1988 AFA masters, that macaroni decade out at 00:43!
Old School Sundays with Steve Mulder
A gem from the archives thanks to the Flatland BMX Junkies YT for this one. At 28 views this deserves way more views, let’s go back to 1988 and the King of Flatland contest in Columbus Ohio. The rolaid at 00:52 is banging, Mulder kicks ass!
Old School Sundays with Derek Schott
Not seen this run before from Derek Schott, worthy of this weeks OSS! The man who invented the rolled (and drops it second attempt at the end of his run!), and a whole lot more besides. Derek was so good, watch this one the whole way through, the run builds after a few early mistakes.
Old School Sundays with RL Osborn
I’ve missed a couple of OSS back to back, so its time to get back in the groove. For this weeks OSS we go back to 1986, and RL Osborn’s run from the AFA Masters in Columbus, Ohio.
Old School Sundays with Danny Meng
For this weeks OSS its go back to 1989, and the Ohio flatland scene was huge with regular regional events building the scene. One of the heavyweights to come out of that scene, was Danny Meng, hit play for some late 80s style.
