Any modifications: This frame was ridden by Pete Brandt & Bo Wade before I got it as a warranty & Bo had cut the seat tube down.
Anything specific to you that you must have on your own ride: A Yoda sticker it never hurts to have the force on your side! & my Adidas shoe tongue stem pad. It’s saved my knees many times.
Sponsors: Empire BMX, thanks Tina & Tom.
Advice to beginners on bike set ups? Don’t fall into the trap of constantly changing your set up thinking it will improve your riding. Find a good bike and improve yourself.

    This is so true.

Totally agree with John and Jan, great point, and thanks John for clearing up the warranty issue. Great stuff! Dialled looking ride….

  2. Thanks Effraim.
I should have explained that a bit better. My first Fenix frame cracked after 18 months which to me was a long time and I didn’t expect any kind of warranty. I was in LA when I noticed it and Quamen had this frame at their office so I built it up so I could ride at the One Love Jam. Viki later asked me if I wanted to keep it I jumped at the offer seeing as I was going to buy another Fenix anyway.

  3. not trying to split hairs or anything…
but surely finding the right ‘set-up’ will involve changing one’s ‘set-up’ over a period of time?
It’s how this flatland business has evolved right up and till this very point!?

yep agree also ,nice ride John, Decade variation is nuts 🙂

Trev think he means its not the bike that make’s the rider it’s the rider that makes the bike ,i use the same expression its what you feel comfortable with.

  5. bmxism, you are also right. But what I feel John is saying I can explain best with an example.
When I first started learning hang5’s and when they where not working I thought it was because of the height of my seat. So I needed a higher seatpot. New seatpost, but still no hang 5’s. Maybe change the position of the bars, no hang 5’s. Bought a pair of new bars, hang 5’s are getting beter. Conclusion, because of the new bars I could hang 5. Wrong, I learned hang5’s because I was practicing them not because of my setup. At one point of learning them i even thought my frame was to small. Now that I have hang5’s master i can hang5 on a Garuda frame-Precisionflybar-setup from a friend of mine. But also on a 21″ cult frame with bigass street bars from another friend.
