All eyes on Jomopro this weekend! Riders from all over the world are in Joplin for the first round of the World Circuit, and Second Round of the AM Flat Circuit. To continue the hype up until the event, here are what I thought were the key three battles last year, all featuring last years winner, Terry Adams. Who’s going to win this year?

i would disagree with your saying, judge the contest on who busts during the time, and touches the least, if there is a mix of the two. then thats a winner in my eyes, style is subjective, judging would be easier, if we looked at the bare essentials (the facts), style is of course a consideration. But not the main one. There is a two run format this year, someone will bust out!

The controversy has started , ride for fun comp placings are irrelevant,
riders get far in contests because they are so dialed
it takes a lot of effort and focus round after round
hopefully the two run format will give them room
they all have some killer tricks up their sleeves
moto could do a long one minute combo
wilhelm might decide to spin deathtrucks
dom has his x-foot style coming into play
terry might link combo after combo again
the stylish riders definitely have new stuff
it will be a treat if they can pull them off
a nice balance of dialed runs and bangers will win here
no controversy howard, competitions are what they are, its healthy to be be competitive. As with anything, there are some who care where they place, some who don’t. The format should bring out the best in the riders, a real positive for the contest scene. And in turn inspire not only the riders there, but all of us that are waiting to watch the videos.
of course it is Effraim just my opinion mind , time after time the subject of judging comes up it get to the point where the judging over shadows the riding yes its healthy to be competitive as long as those in the minority are not sore losers which is sour grapes as they say.
Trevor Meyer got slated a few years back and for what ? a bad judging decision yet he gets blamed for being old and lacking the cutting edge WTF ,you know i’m quite content watching some great riding regardless of who wins or who places where etc to me its the taking part that counts and i’m sure thats the same for everyone 🙂

just got in after a day riding, and watching the riding at this year’s jomopro (practice) very closely. there’s no controversy, and i really wish people would stop saying things like contest riders are stale. every pro i saw today surprised me with newer better things and new styles. the level of riding is extremely good this year!
Could to hear Jim, thanks for the post! Just watched Fat Tony’s warm up edit, it is looking tight this year! With the format change I think the riding have more freedom in return it will improve.
nah practice is different from a dialed routine
you’ll see more stale fish than tony hawk’s board does
dub can bust out but when it comes to contests he chokes
maybe if dub or other talent can find their center they will win
just watch viki or terry they mastered contest concentration
the difference is that viki has zen focus while terry is popeyed
like valium versus adderall. plus that matthias kid doesn’t give a f

Democracy vote my opinion hello , Theres always controversy Jim theres always some little do gooder bitching about this that and the other go on Global Flat for example not that i’m a member but always someone who’s not happy regarding the decisions gets on my tits ,lets just enjoy the riding and the talent on show.
