Every year Hotoke’s Shinsyu flatland contest in Nagano delivers! This year the riding stands out of course, but also the format. In light of recent discussions about the BMX Worlds results, the split of the pro class in two groups (Front and Rear group) is an interesting move. The winners of each group had a final battle which Takahiro “Enoyoung” Enoki ending up winning! Congratulations to Takahiro and also Hotoke for another successful event!
Front class:
1st Takahiro “Enoyoung ” Enoki
2nd Hisato Yamashiro
3rd Yoshiki “Hotoke” Uchino
Rear class:

2nd Kensuke Hamai
3rd Yukihiro Sato
Low (amateur) class:

OMG yes yes yes Enoki!!!!! He’s like Denes Katona but does his variations in circles!! YES!!! That ending back up to the pedals with the rewind was SICK! So tech and so hard!!!! Love it!!!
Also love the format!! Like its ‘high low poker’!!!! My only suggestion would be that there be a ‘front and back’ format where riders go both ways….displaying the full talent of well rounded riders. Love the contest!!!!
Prevost rips. Period. Pedals pedals pedals. So sick!
Front class, rear class and low class. It sounds like a prison gang bang to me…
who did that song? It went so well with the video. Good work! Great riding!
this guy from Quebec is really good
Check out Jean-William at 3:21. He is pumping a forward rope on the pedal switch-footed on the opposite side of the bike. It looks so badass. I wish I could ride like him!

What an absolutely lovely contest.
1;42! Backwards spinning lawnmower on the frame one handed!! Arms of steel!

Yeah man!!! That was clearly the jaw-dropping moment for me. Something that I love about flatland is that it’s not only the best/most skilled riders who find amazingly original things. They come from everywhere.
You’re right though. Maybe arms of steel, the core strength of the Incredible Hulk and the self belief of Gandhi.
Totally right Paul! I haven’t tried it, but the balance point and the strength and force on that trick must be wild!
