more bmx flatland from the rider cup in london, 1992 from matt dyer on Vimeo.
Another treat from Matthew Dyer! Thanks for doing this for flatmatters Matthew! Heres what he had to say:
“decided to condense the flatland runs of many from the rider cup as there is some great riding that is pulled clean and some very progressive riding from that time not pulled but definately needs to be seen so you can see some of todays tricks earlier origins and who was busting em out. riders featured include albert retey, marton, effraim catlow, phil dolan, dylan worsley, matt pingel, andy mann, dave beveridge, dennis mccoy, steve bisseker, jeff martin. enjoy a blast thru the past.”
Denny top top work mate ,this is awesome takes me back still inspired by this ,great day for me nice one 🙂
Indeed! Thank you Denny! Really stoked to see some Bisseker footage and Dylan Worsley killing it also!
Brilliant! Great old school footage! Thanks Matt and Effraim! Just highlights how much talent and creativity was going on in the UK in ’92! Some really great stuff! Was very fun to see Effraim, Dylan, Phil, and of course, my old friend DMC ripping it up in the still fairly early years of flatland. Makes me feel pretty old though! I had retired from competitive riding a year or so prior! Still kicking it old school though at 43 yrs. and loving every minute of it! Effraim, I really enjoy the “Old School Sundays” entries! Keep up the great work! I know I speak for the entire flatland community around the globe when I say “We all greatly appreciate your efforts!!”
yeah Jason i’m 43 too still get inspired by all of this, keep riding man.
as long as people are enjoying the postings i will keep doing em. still quite a lot left in the home video footage vault. i wonder what footage to do next? hmmmmmm…….
Thanks Jason and Howard, todays OSS is really motivating with this, and part 1 with Frankie Arnwine, don’t sleep on that one either!
Some great jams in there! Bisseker looks like he was on to some pretty relevant ideas.
I love watching contests so manic and adrenalized. People boomeranging into signs and tail-whipping into spectators.
Always a good time with DMC. The guy’s been an energized good vibe for so long I wouldn’t be surprised if footage turned up from the Mesozoic era with Dennis doing a 30mph rope-a-roni past some confused dinosaurs.
