not digging how some got dirty by some dodgy judging. Viki, Terry & Kio all won their battles in my opinion…
i concur, that the judging was weird. as i understood it = best combo wins. so go all out and hope you land it before the time runs out, or land 3-4 good-but-not great combos and lose. fair is fair i guess, but it was far from the normal way a comp as big as the x-games usually goes, and i’m pretty that threw the riders off, as well as the judges. not to mention their faulty clock/timer. and why didn’t the 2 runner-ups get to face off for that 3rd spot if no points are assigned ? janky, the whole thing was rather amateur-ish looking to me (the way the contest was run that is, not the riding itself).
Every rider in this contest SLAAAAMMMMEED………new and different twists in their lines and all really going for it. Damn there was some great lines outta every rider.( I noticed and analyzed every single rider’s lines , trick for trick , ha. ) Watching this really got me motivated to go and ride my bike. The level of lines everyone was banging out was wild. Especially @ such a pressure cooker of a contest. These Osaka X-Games bring out some great riding year after year. I’m stoked on them. Scotty Cranmer also needs some props . Besides literally bringing video game BMX tricks to REAL life ,since 2003…….he’s doing a rad job commentating these events. ( he can also nose manual like a champ . I met and rode bikes with him @ a BMX Demo in September of 2007 . ) Again , the riding in this contest rules ……makes this a must watch in my opinion.
