  1. so many good forgotten flatland moves in there !!! it just ocured to me that bmx trends are just like fashion trends where you go to a vintage store dig up some old clothes, bring them back into the streets and back to modern life again. This can be done with old tricks. it’s not about doing tricks exactly as they were either, but just like fashion where you pick an old style and give it a modern fabric and an actual fit. well….

  2. To this day I still can’t decide if I like this or Static better. Both so damn good… no other bike vid even comes close.

  3. Eddie Roman’s Ride On annihilates all vids mate
but one thing is for sure, even though today’s videos are f… insane, superb in terms of quality, edting, effects etc. they’re lacking and I don’t want to offend anyone, I’ve been into BMX since 1990 and I’ve seen some stuff, maybe not as much as some people around here, but I’ve seen stuff, sure Matthias, Terry Adams, Alex, Moto and all those Japanese guys, which are totally mind blowing have dope vids BUT Eddie Roman, Mark Eaton, Ells were truly ahead, I’ve seen also some old Backyard vids also, and that chasm of death where Fids and Taj are busting’ sure is epic. Dave Parrick was one guy how came with excellent videos also, and that’s so hard to find these days

  4. Thats it Johnm you got it thats exactly how i feel although 1978 was when i started but Ells,Eaton,Parrick,Roman with these guys at the helm you were guarenteed something special and ” Ride On ” is timeless ,Backyard Boxset is out and is 10 discs of history 🙂 R.I.P. Boyley

  5. 1978 ? wtf ? man, that’s something ! wow, Tony Murray, Dominguez and Hugo Gonzalez ! did Hugo ever made it to the UK ? f… he was good – Hey Howard my all time favs coming from UK are Gerry Galley, Carlo Griggs, Lee Reynolds, James Hudson and Graig Campbell – those guys had it, but Webb is dope as well, why mention vert riders? ’cause those guys rule our sport

  6. Before those guys Johnm i’m 44 now ,yeah Hugo came over with Skyway team in 1986 Dominguez was my idol ,Tony Murray rad as hell still ride they do ,yeah i know Gerry very well we all used to ride West London mini ramp at my friends house early 90’s he rode mini like he rode vert burly , i see him now and then and yes he is my favourite vert rider ever ( i’m a bit biased) i’m named my cat after him he still rides a lot i must call him soon to see him,Craig,Carlo,,Lee wow those dudes were rippers and Webbie is awesome ,there used to be an old flatlander called Jason Webb we called Webbie as well he could do 6 handgliders (rode for Hutch) great times.you on Facebook ?

  7. AWSOME! So much good shit from Edgar to Dylan, to Kerry, to Sean Peters, to Osicka, to Freimuth n Gonz, to Chad mastering every1’s shit. Exactly what BMX is missing! I forgot how much I love EllesBells… Oh yeah, and ACID!

PS- can a brotha get sum “Baco-Uncut” action?

  8. In 97 I met Jason Davies in NYC, that guy was good also. Gerry Galley along Carlo are my UK’s top vert riders. I have this footage from Life on the Edge, Ron Wilkerson’s vid of both Jason & Carlo riding this red half in Bristol I think, I might be wrong, but INSANE ! specially Carlo, and Corrosion of Conformity playing on the back f…. that was good, that makes me wonder what happened to UK’s vert scene? in the 80’s and 90’s was on top of things and today you don’t get to hear much, I guess just as elsewhere street, trails and mini took over..sure there is Bestwick but he is like american, living in Woodward etc. I recall Zach Shaw ? 360 backflip innovator ? he still rides, good one

  9. Yeah your right UK vert was massive remember Mike Canning,Stephen Laidlaw, the Hudsons,Zach ( rides for Vans still on vert ),Gerry, Simon Tabron,Bestwick,Jason Davies,Jason Lunn ,Pepi Winder,Carlo,Jess Dyrenforth,Dennis Wingham,Dave Young the list goes on many still ride but not vert apart from the more noticable riders ,i recall Carlo going 15 feet at aged 15 at the Tizer Worlds in 1988 he was the UK’s answer to Hoffman still has his vert ramp set up in the South of England and runs Proper Bike Co .

yeah Zach called in the Zachflip ( 360 Backflip ) yeah he invented it was on 20″ Video magazine did it on dirt in Cranbrook southern England. The ramp was in Bristol your right it is at the skatepark and is huge Bristol is Jasons birthplace.Bestwick is British and always will be from Derby but American citizen now our best ever and finest vert rider still progressing at 40 guys always been good even as a kid you could see the potential he just keeps getting better and better.
