Matthias Dandois Open – 23/26th June Marseille

We are under a month until the Matthias Dandois OPEN at the Sosh Freestyle cup and here are some updates! This year the contest is open to everyone!! The whole event will be held right on the beach (Place du Prado) right next to the Marseille legendary bowl.

PRACTICE:
The floor will be ready for everyone to shred on Wednesday 23rd! Wooden OSB floor.

BEST TRICK CONTEST:
The best trick contest will happen on Thursday 24th June from 6pm to 7pm. One hour jam session where everyone can try their hardest stuff! The riders will judge themselves. The winner gets a freefall jump over Marseille for 2 people.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications will be held on Friday 25th June at 5 pm.
Format: 2:30 runs + extra 30 sec to try a last trick. Judged on originality, difficulty, diversity, consistency and style

FINALS:
Finals will happen Saturday 26th June
Top 12 goes to the finals
Format: 1 vs 1 battle
Each riders gets two rounds of 1 minutes + extra 30 sec to try a last trick.
Last battle is a 3 man battle. Same rules.

PRIZE MONEY:
7000€
12th place: 250€
11th place: 250€
10th place: 250€
9th place: 250€
8th place: 250€
7th place: 250€
6th place: 500€
5th place: 500€
4th place: 500€
3rd place: 800€
2nd place: 1200€
1st place: 2000€

I’m riding my own contest because I just can’t seat there and watch my friends killing it but there is no way I’m getting any kind of prize money. If I place well enough to make some money I’ll give it all back to the homies.

The contest will happen in the middle of the festival. Party every night on the beach, you can grab a drink and watch the skateboard world cup, go swim, get a paddle board and chill… Good times, thanks to SOSH!
It’s super easy getting to Marseille (international airport, TGV train station or road).
