He has been at it since the mid 80s and is not stopping anytime soon. He has done it all pushing the scene positively through his riding, organising events, attending jams and contests, and of course the highly influencial Diversion Video Series. We dropped some BIG news yesterday on Instagram, today we have the official press release for the UEC championships in Luxembourg. Here’s the word from Viki Gomez, who’s put in a lot of work to make this happen.

I am proud to finally announce that on November 16th, the doors of the Grande Salle of the stunning ROTONDES will open its doors for the very first edition of a European Championships in BMX Freestyle Flatland in Luxembourg. This is my discipline and my profession since 25+ years, therefore, I am really excited and grateful to my team and our partners who help me bring my sport to the capital Luxembourg City for you to witness when Europe’s top BMX Flatland’ers (M/W), will compete and take the “wheelie” to the next level, for the title of who will become the 2024 UEC BMX Freestyle Flatland European Champion.”

Battling the weather elements today. Congratulations to Yu Katagiri stepping up his level today to take the top spot, followed by Toon Pakphum and Sietse van Berkel who both had amazing runs. The weather forecast isn’t great for tomorrow, but hopefully we can make finals happen. Top eight goes through to the finals.
It’s been a long day judging, Congratulations to Yu Katagiri who threw down an amazing run to take the top spot with Kio Hayakawa and Moto Sasaki in the top three. Top 16 make semis tomorrow. As always there were some surprises, that’s contests for you! Good luck everyone!

Made it to Shanghai today, for Round 3 of the Fise World Series / UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup series. The flatland area is looking huge and undercover, currently raining here in Shanghai, China. Practise starts tomorrow, with qualifying, semis and finals Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It’s going to be epic, stay tuned!
