Dominik Nekolný – Mitas xDOMx Tyre

In 2012 Dominik Nekolny was given the chance to design his own signature tyre, who certainly don’t see this very often in flatland! Here’s what he had to say about it plus the short clip of Dom riding back wheel!

“The tire is one of the most important components of the bike. Ever since , I always have a dream to have my own tire exactly according to my wishes and requirements.
This dream come true 10 years later, in early 2012, when I was contacted by Mitas willing to cooperate in the production of my signature tire. For design the tire, there were several important parameters. The most important of these was of course the adhesion of tires, which we managed to do absolutely great and is exactly on the border of excellent adhesion and durability while good tire, which is navigable evenly.
Equally important parameter was the design – I wanted to tire did not carry my name only, but also something that describes me, which I managed very well. Tire will be produced in two versions: Elite with flexible Kevlar construction and overall weight of breathtaking 280 grams. A further design in Classic with rigid steel construction and a total weight of 460 grams and casing lower price. All enclosures are manufactured in the Czech Republic!

The resulting tire has a very good design, excellent adhesion and reasonable price – everything from TOP tire expect!”

Giannis Caternellis – Freestyler #28

A lil’ bit later than usual, Giannis Caternellis is back with the 28th in his freestyler series! It is hard not to be a big fan of this guys riding, two brakes, totally different style than the rest of the scene and of course truly doing his own thing. Look out for the forward rope undertaker to walk around decade at the 4 minute mark! Yes Giannis!

John Yull – 100 Degrees

What a year it has for John Yull already, nailing the triple foot jam decade for his Same Thing Daily part, the brakeless backwards decade and already dropping a number of “Must Watch” edits here on FM and he’s not letting up anytime soon! Look out for the multiple foot jam decade backwards wheelie line at 1:14! John is an inspiration to us all!

Scott Weaver & Chad DeGroot – Universal BMX Trick Stars

Deco’s Chad Degroot and Scott Weaver have been performing in shows during the summer holidays at Universal City Walk in Orlando, Florida. Chad breaks this down for us all..

“6 week trial period just came to an end with only Friday and Saturday 3 shows each night. Entertaining people leaving and going to the theme parks and restaurants. Pretty loose style 15 min sets at Universal City walk…just making a jam circle and getting people excited. Was great seeing the reactions and 300 plus people watching at times but really challenging with the lights adding pounds to our bikes and played with your eyes and mind. We dumbed it down back to some basics but Scott Weaver stepped it up with some really tough rolling tricks as he got use to the area doing the whole 6 week trial. His no handed tricks looked so wild with all the lights hooked up to us. I did get a good reaction with the Darkside in that one show…I fell once but finally understood later to make it flow and do a good show. Surface is slick with spilled drinks and close to a water feature the kids play in non stop. Another show, another story, always excited where bmx brings me. Showing people what you can do on a bike, entertaining, growing BMX. I do think a halloween costume idea is in order after being lit up with hundreds of lights on my helmet, bike, and body. Video is coming soon as with a go pro we were able to capture one show and the highlights are real crazy with all these lights.”
