Matthias Dandois In The 4th Dimension

Matthias Dandois is always on point with media press releases and sent in this awesome press release for his latest project, read on!

“Hello!
I’m really proud to present you my new Red Bull video project: “TOUR DE FLAT 2018”

The technique we invented together is revolutionary: it’s a derivative from the stop motion. It consists in repeating the same succession of tricks in different landscapes bringing a vectorial approach to the image, in 4 dimensions: static shots, traveling shots, circular shots and drone shots. Everything was filmed with a small crew and materials: one camera operator, one drone and one electronic single-wheeled board.

The filming lasted seven intense days. We made eight stopovers: Paris, Épinay-sur-Orge, Nantes, Bordeaux, Biarritz, Hossegor, Montpellier and Lyon. Despite bad weather conditions and non-traditional grounds for BMX Flat, We finally made it!

To find the best spots, I engaged my community through my social networks with the hashtag #DandoisChezToi (literally “Dandois at your home”). It allowed me to meet in person the ones who follow me all year long. The good side of social medias!

The video got so much media coverage already! We made all the French News Channel (BFM TV, CNews, France Info…) and got multiple articles in L’equipe, Paris Match, Fubiz, Le Figaro…) Super stoked on it!

The Making of the video will follow soon!

Giannis Caternellis – Freestyler #100 The End

Today is dedicated to Giannis Caternellis, a monumental day where he reaches 100 edits in his freestyler series. Absolutely amazing worth ethic to get this done, not to mention trick bag! Especially loved the diversity in what he is doing in this 100th edit, and the standout being the hitchhiker darksome to fudge packer F truck and out at around the 5:49 mark. Respect Giannis!

Scott Hagnas – Now & Then 2018

If you are riding flatland in your fifties, I have the utmost respect for your passion towards flatland. Tricks are not only for Kids, but Adults too. I grew up watching Scott Hagnas Infection videos during the 90’s, and today I am stoked to watch this retrospective edit Snakebite BMX just dropped on their channel documenting Scott’s riding from 1984 to 2005 and up to date footage to boot as well and is still ripping at the age of 52. Scott has a lot of great ideas and it’s super fun to watch his take on flatland, go watch this!

Must Watch – James McGraw / 2018 Year End

2018 Year End from James McGraw on Vimeo.

I feel like I am giving these Must Watch’s out on the daily at the moment, but James McGraw deserves it more than most. For James to hold back from posting on Instagram is almost an impossible task, I can picture him stressing about not showing it online at his home in Monument, Colorado. At the age of 48, James is a big inspiration to me personally. He has kids, his wife, Laura, runs his own business, phone always going non stop, yet he still finds the time and focus to ride and his energy more importantly is contagious.

This video is James’ quest for several variations that he has been chasing for a long time, one trick took him almost two years. However old you are watching this, will you have this energy at 48? If you already do, more power to you and you should share it. You may inspire more people other than just myself, congratulations on the Must Watch James and thanks again for all you do for flatland.

Must Watch – Jean William Prevost / Puro Flat 3

PURO FLAT 3 from IGI BMX on Vimeo.

Wow, when the 2018 Nora Cup winner Jean William Prevost drops an edit you take notice. MY Sunday is made, it is pouring with rain and I am getting ready to go ride with a spring in my step. This is flat out incredible, Dub continues to break new ground and do his own thing away from the contest scene and in turn turn up the notches in the art form of flatland riding and then some.

This will be the 4th Must Watch edit this week! Here’s why I haven’t gone soft giving these Must Watches out!

00:17: backwards spinning undertaker to xft carved pumping peg wheelie pivot 360 body varial two footed backyard out another side xft carved peg wheelie Degroot undertaker! Let’s just getting the party started!

I could go and on, let’s discuss this one in the comments section. I gotta go ride!!

Aaron Wright – Fall 2018

One of my favourite things about running the site, is the random names that pop up unexpected. Aaron Wright is a name I remember from the Vibe videos by Jeff DesRoche and Shane Neville’s Flatland Manifesto videos always killing it at the annual Toronto contests. Stoked to see Aaron is still riding and progressing, peep his 42nd birthday edit right here, happy birthday Aaron!
