This past weekend was the annual Gananoque Flatland Contest 2012, the riders headed out for a weekend of fun flatland sessions in the middle of the 1000 islands by the waterfront. The contest format for pro was 5 tricks. Below are the results from the Pro contest. Check out that huge flatland area!
1st Jean-Francois Boulianne
2nd Lachlan Cameron
3rd Francois Cote
4th Steve Bergeron
5th Brandon Fenton
Awesome edit…and it’s really nice to see Steve Bergeron compete with the guys. He’s definitely pro-level.
What does a 5 trick format mean?
The nothing Manual looks bonkers! is that the first one or did Penonzek have something similar?
@ Prasheel I did wonder the same thing. trick and a combo are two diff things. perhaps it is 5 combos?
@Johann, Nathan and Chase did it yes holding front pegs, Sam Foakes did it also back when he was a nipper (no handed on pedal also), but man Simon Marsan is a beast!!! He takes it to a whole diff level. I saw on facebook a no footed backyard variation of a similar concept where he is sat on the seat clamp, so crazy! Incredible balance point!
Awesome comp!! My first Expert win returning to riding a few years ago! 🙂
5 Trick was 5 Combos each. It was a very relaxed Jam style comp, rider went out busted a combo and came in, second rider went out same thing….
Expert & Novice class also competed in this format. I loved this format, I felt It took a lot of pressure off the riders without having to concern themself with time and feel rushed.
Nice to see some more footage of Francois Cote. That is one sick area for a comp! No clips of Fenton??
Yes, Pro format was 5 Combos Total. Jam format style. Brendon Fenton was busting out all weekend, I just didn’t get too much footage of him. Had a blast @ this contest!!
