UK Flatland Championships 2016 Date Confirmed!

The 2015 UK Flatland Championships went off, Matti Hemmings just confirmed the date for 2016! Mark your calendars, 23rd/25th September at the Cycle Show at the Birmingham NEC Cycle Show. We will be working on a few improvements, stay tuned for updates in the new year!

The annual One Love Jam is not too far away, Darin Wright over at One Love just set up the events page to let people know the date as he waits on the flyer design. Fancy escaping the cold winter weather? Newport Beach, Southern California on January 16th is the place to be, traditionally the first flatland event of the new year!

Japanese DVDS largely seem to go under the radar, stoked to see this Clap Two day DVD uploaded today by Space DDDude (whoever you are, thank you!) Grab a cuppa and enjoy some great riding from Akihiko Takahashi, Hiroyuki Iwaki, Makoto Ogasawara, Minehito Shinzato, Moto Sasaki, Shinichi “RUSSIA” Kiba, Shuichi Osada, Yasuhiro Uehara and Yosuke Yamaguchi.

Shinichiro Hara just dropped a couple of nice progression clips on his youtube channel, the candy bar walk around clip is amazing in particular, check these out!
Transworld – Network VHS\Flatland Section
Chad Johnston contributed a sick flatland section featuring Pete Brandt, Martti Kuoppa, Andrew Faris, Chad J, Terry Adams and Simon O’Brien to the 2004 Network DVD. This may or may not have gone under the radar, from the opening pedal 5 intro by Chad this is so good. The riding stands up to this day, as Chad selects some of his favourite clips. My personal favourites were Simon O’Brien’s backwards half packer kick flip line at 1:53, Pete Brandt’s multiple half karl bar flips at 2:19, Martti Kuoppa’s xft hitch kick flip to regular hitch at 2:48. Stoked to watch this one again and suggest you do to!
Old School Sundays with Rich Upjohn
It was great to finally after all these years to see New England flatland legend Rich Upjohn ride in the flesh at BITR 2015. Check out his run from the 1988 AFA Masters in Wayne, New Jersey!
