It’s an annual tradition, right at the end of the year the Matsudo locals throw down a jam at their infamous riding spot. Infamous through the Moto Sasaki videos (who sadly isn’t on this one).
As always there is a great variety of riding styles on offer here, some of the highlights of the edit for me are: Takahiro Ikeda two footed spinning death truck body varial out at 1:12, Wild x-up spinning lawnmower body varial to two footed x-foot backyard line at 4:58 by Ren Oshima, Varo Hernandez front to back wheel line at 7:19, Yu Shoji’s Xft opposite hang 5 to xft halfpacker line is amazing around the 7:56 mark, and Ren gets the banger at 8:27.
The flatland community waits for this edit every year, and I guess we should include this in the year end awards talk as it falls in 2023.
Thank you Jimalog, and all the riders involved in this annual jam!
Don’t sleep on this one!
The first Must Watch edit of 2022, and it’s no surprise it comes from Jimalog’s latest!
What it must be like to be blessed with what certainly looks like one of the best flatland scenes in the world, great riding spot, variety of tricks on show, riders supporting each other, the list goes on. Whatever you like, it’s here!
Great riding from Akihiko Takahashi, Masashi Itani, Yu Shoji (don’t miss his clips!),
Takahiro Ikeda, Shuichi Osada, Kazuma Nakajima, Takuji Kasahara, Nariaki Kudo,
Hidenori Ishizaki, Takahiro Enoki, Shinichiro Hara and Hiroya Matsumoto.
Yu Shoji’s clips stand out in this one, not to mention it is so good to see some fresh Shuichi Osada footage!
So much to love about this new “Moto Sasaki Private Jam” edit by Jimalog. After a quiet spell, it seems Spring time is here, and the flood gates are opening on “Must watch” edits, and boy this is a treat.
The big news here is Moto Sasaki got a private spot, what I love about this, is rather than keeping it to himself he’s bringing in the next generation of shredders into enjoy this blessing.
As you already will know, the riding level is ridiculous with standouts from Yu Shoji, Kio Hayakawa and the ender from Moto Sasaki!
But there is plenty more from the likes of Akihiko Takahashi, Masashi Itani, Yuta Watanabe, Ruo Hayakawa, Yuo Hayakawa, Takashi Ishida, Koh Yoshida. Nao Yoshida, and Ryuga Matumura.
This edit got me so amped to ride, thanks Moto and Jimalog for sharing this, and all the heads involved providing the feel good vibes!
Three days into 2020 and already a Must Watch! Jimalog’s Matsudo Year end jam edits are almost reserved for the Must watch tag, don’t miss this. Jimalog’s edit never disappoint, theres a couple of moments are literally screamed WTF this morning on my first watch and want to highlight these moments.
1:01: Shigary Salary. One handed Seat grab hang ten body varial/jump to one kick elephant glide to right sided halfpacker whip to left side halfpacker pivot out.
1:25: Akihiko Takahashi. Everything Akihiko does is beast, but loved the backwards xft hitch jump regular backwards hitch bar flip out.
3:05: Hidenori Ishizaki. On the front wheel, and slaying a exit move Cory Fester is infamous for. Hidenori mixes it up slightly, starting with xft hitch pivot to backwards backpacker to right sided backwards hafpoacker and bar scoots to backwards Karl (opposite side from Cory).
3:26: Yu Shoji. One of the moves of the edit without a doubt, the first switch I haven’t seen before. Opposite switch foot hang 5 dumped into right side xft halfpacker!
3:59: Takahiro Enoki. Saving the hottest moves till last, Jimalog know how to build an edit. Takahiro drops a bomb right here, inside switch b pivot two footed one handed cream regular stance body varial/jump to backwards two footed dump! pivot switch foot ice cream, the scream at the end is so good! This is flatland!
What a great end to an amazing edit, many of us dream of going to ride at that Matsdo spot one day. Seems magical, always great vibes and banging tricks coming out of the locals there. What a start to 2020!
2019 has begun with a bang, 4 days in and already two Must Watch edits to get you inspired! I am a big fan of the Jimalog edits, and this 2018 Matsudo Year End Jam edit filmed on 29th December at Matsudo, Hall 21 of Forest in Chiba,Japan hits the spot!
With an amazing list of riders, Akihiko Takahashi, Masashi Itani, Yu Shoji,Takuji Kasahara, Takumi Matsumoto, Moto Sasaki, Takahiro Ikeda,Yasunari Ishijima, Takahiro Enoki, Kazuma Nakajima, and Kenji Mori.
As with all Must Watch edits, let’s get into what’s so great about this one!
2:18: Takahiro Enoki, Xft carved hitch crazy pivot to backwards backpacker backwards whiplash out, I still rewind this one after three rewinds already. Timeless move!
2:37: Takahiro Ikeda, been waiting to see Takahiro do the pedal time machine walkover decade to one kick greater into a line without laying bike down and he gets it done here and finishes the line with a time machine variation I have never seen before. Unreal technique!
6:42: Takahiro Enoki, 6:42 and Takahiro hits a dream line of mine, opposite dump ride in, pivot xft upside down ice cream pivot backwards two footed dump pivot opposite xft cream! Just beautiful!
7:30: Moto Sasaki, what a mad line to finish a wonderful edit from Jimalog. Hang ten pivot to xft crackpacker turbines (hard enough) out to xft steam pivot jump to right side pumping halfpacker carved in circles into backwards pumping halfpacker in circles into backwards one footed spinning halfpacker step through to spinning hang ten out! Ridiculous!
As well as the amazing lines from everyone, this edit has a feel good factor about it. Friends together, riding, sharing, supporting. What a start to the year, big up Jimalog and all the riders for this treat! Award nominees announced later, it’s a good day!
August is often the busiest month of the year on the site, and it certainly got started with a bang on August 1st! The man of the moment, Viki Gomez fresh back from the 2016 World Circuit title in Brazil goes back to the core day to day sessions at his home spot in Luxembourg and just like the CORE Part 1, this delivers at the highest level!
Highlights for me:
– The opening rolling dump truck pivot backwards xft ice cream pivot opposite side two footed dump truck pivot xft ice cream line is just beautiful and took me back to the riding of Dan Rigby, amazing!
– X bar steam kickflip regular bar halfpacker pivot opposite xft hitch xft halfhiker body varial to halfpacker at 00:39!
– I know it’s not new, but the hang ten pressure jump steam Viki does at 1:03 is timeless, execution is also on point!
– Backwards crackpacker in circles carved back to forwards crackpacker steam kick flip crackpacker, the technicality and sheer variety of moves Viki has is just incredible! This is years and years of crafting to get to this level, I could go on and on, but I’ll leave it here.
The clocks go forward one hour, that feel good factor that the extra daylight brings, more riding time equals more time filming and documenting what you do. April was a busy month!
Deco’s Chad Degroot kicked off the month and had this to say:
“Since I starting riding my head wants me to learn as much as possible and this includes bars backwards tricks. The beginning of this link I learned this day so to make more smooth flow and no scuffing. The middle has been a gem and great feeling to whip the backend around with no brakes and keep speed. The end is bars backwards and played a huge head game for a bit because I had to push so much momentum to get into the backyard position and pump to keep speed. Real excited to move past the 15 second persona and get onto the longer story of this trick.”
March is always a good month, springtime is coming and after a long winter its nice to be able to ride outside again. Not to mention generally there is a whole lot more content coming through from riders worldwide.
On the first day of March, Paul Chamberlain just dropped a real nice promo for the Down Underground 2016 series, filmed at his local riding spot in Summer Hill. Plenty of awesome hang 5 variations in signature Paul Chamberlain smooth style, well worth watching again.
With Benjamin Hudson in Tokyo, Japan recently for the G Shock contest, it’s as good of an excuse for a jam at the Matsudo Mori No Hall 21 riding spot in Chiba. Combine one of the best scenes, and Jimalog and your onto a winner!
Watch the whole edit and enjoy the vibe with the riders feeding off each other, featuring amazing and diverse riding from Benjamin Hudson, Masashi Itani, Naoki Watanabe,Yu Shoji, Shuichi Osada, Akihiko Takahashi, Tomohiro”Penipee” Katayama, Koh Yoshida, Takuji Kasahara, Kazuma Nakajima, Moto Sasaki, Takumi Matsumoto and Yuki Itoh. Good times in Chiba!
Nice sunday treat here from the Buoyancy crew filmed by mmfilms, featuring Shuichi Osada, Akihiko Takahashi, Naoki Watanabe, Hiroki Iwata and Takumi Matumoto, deep in the japanese countryside.
