The first Must Watch edit of 2022, and it’s no surprise it comes from Jimalog’s latest!
What it must be like to be blessed with what certainly looks like one of the best flatland scenes in the world, great riding spot, variety of tricks on show, riders supporting each other, the list goes on. Whatever you like, it’s here!
Great riding from Akihiko Takahashi, Masashi Itani, Yu Shoji (don’t miss his clips!),
Takahiro Ikeda, Shuichi Osada, Kazuma Nakajima, Takuji Kasahara, Nariaki Kudo,
Hidenori Ishizaki, Takahiro Enoki, Shinichiro Hara and Hiroya Matsumoto.
Yu Shoji’s clips stand out in this one, not to mention it is so good to see some fresh Shuichi Osada footage!
So much to love about this new “Moto Sasaki Private Jam” edit by Jimalog. After a quiet spell, it seems Spring time is here, and the flood gates are opening on “Must watch” edits, and boy this is a treat.
The big news here is Moto Sasaki got a private spot, what I love about this, is rather than keeping it to himself he’s bringing in the next generation of shredders into enjoy this blessing.
As you already will know, the riding level is ridiculous with standouts from Yu Shoji, Kio Hayakawa and the ender from Moto Sasaki!
But there is plenty more from the likes of Akihiko Takahashi, Masashi Itani, Yuta Watanabe, Ruo Hayakawa, Yuo Hayakawa, Takashi Ishida, Koh Yoshida. Nao Yoshida, and Ryuga Matumura.
This edit got me so amped to ride, thanks Moto and Jimalog for sharing this, and all the heads involved providing the feel good vibes!
2019 has begun with a bang, 4 days in and already two Must Watch edits to get you inspired! I am a big fan of the Jimalog edits, and this 2018 Matsudo Year End Jam edit filmed on 29th December at Matsudo, Hall 21 of Forest in Chiba,Japan hits the spot!
With an amazing list of riders, Akihiko Takahashi, Masashi Itani, Yu Shoji,Takuji Kasahara, Takumi Matsumoto, Moto Sasaki, Takahiro Ikeda,Yasunari Ishijima, Takahiro Enoki, Kazuma Nakajima, and Kenji Mori.
As with all Must Watch edits, let’s get into what’s so great about this one!
2:18: Takahiro Enoki, Xft carved hitch crazy pivot to backwards backpacker backwards whiplash out, I still rewind this one after three rewinds already. Timeless move!
2:37: Takahiro Ikeda, been waiting to see Takahiro do the pedal time machine walkover decade to one kick greater into a line without laying bike down and he gets it done here and finishes the line with a time machine variation I have never seen before. Unreal technique!
6:42: Takahiro Enoki, 6:42 and Takahiro hits a dream line of mine, opposite dump ride in, pivot xft upside down ice cream pivot backwards two footed dump pivot opposite xft cream! Just beautiful!
7:30: Moto Sasaki, what a mad line to finish a wonderful edit from Jimalog. Hang ten pivot to xft crackpacker turbines (hard enough) out to xft steam pivot jump to right side pumping halfpacker carved in circles into backwards pumping halfpacker in circles into backwards one footed spinning halfpacker step through to spinning hang ten out! Ridiculous!
As well as the amazing lines from everyone, this edit has a feel good factor about it. Friends together, riding, sharing, supporting. What a start to the year, big up Jimalog and all the riders for this treat! Award nominees announced later, it’s a good day!
Today is a good day! Yuki Itoh is like the Japanese version of Tom Sevisual in terms of videographer. The camerawork, lighting, and overall feel of this Toyosu jam edit is so beautifully relaxing, and if you are like me it will draw you in and time just stands still watching this. That’s not to mention the amazing riding from the likes of Jean William Prevost (the opening line at 00:15 and that 2:38!), Naoki Watanabe, Hidenori Ishizaki (1:18!), Masashi Itani, Takuji Kasahara, Misaki Katagiri, Yuki Itoh (3:20), and Ryosuke Takagi. Nice variety in riding styles and soundtrack by Valance Drakes & Ivan Shopov makes this one an edit you will watch over and over again! Wow!
A special treat from the archives today from Japan, Discovery Vol.02 is now available to watch online featuring Hidenori “Soncho” Ishizaki,Jun “Oni” Katayama,Tomohiro Kiyoku,

Tomokazu “Mo-rich” Morinaga (the banger at 37;05!). Well worth grabbing a cuppa or two and sitting down for this one.
I am still catching up on videos and news after the UK Flatland Championships weekend, today I have one video for you that deserves your attention. Sunny Singh aka hate5six makes a welcome return to the video editing game with this really nice edit documenting the riding of Masashi Itani out in Hawaii. Look out for the last bike flip at 3:22! Here’s what Sunny had to say:
“In February, I traveled to Hawaii to ride with and film Masashi Itani, one of the top professional flatland riders in the world, and also hang out with @Bobby Carter, whose Diversion BMX video series were highly influential to me growing up. I finally got around to cutting this edit together for Masi which contains the first and only known recording of him pulling a 180 bike flip. I focused on incorporating various elements that I loved from BMX videos in the 90s-00s. In Bobby’s words, “I haven’t been stoked on an edit like this in a long time.”
It’s a good day for edits here on Flatmattersonline! Whenever Yuki Itoh aka yukipkoproject drops a new project I’m glued to the scene. This Toyosu Jam Vol.10 was filmed by Takaya Matsumoto and edited and directed by the man himself. As always the riding doesn’t disappointment and showcases multiple generations of riders from Yuki Itoh killing the front wheel at 1:22 mark through to the young buck Yuta Watanabe showing his skills at 00:39. Add Masashi Itani at 1:54 and Takuji Kasahara at 2:15 and you have one easy on the eye edit, not to mention the other riders. Love these edits from Japan!
Yukipkoproject aka Yuki Itoh is on fire with updates from the Toyosu Jam and this the 9th edition that took place on Saturday 23rd September featuring Yuta Watanabe, Mizuki Takahata, Masashi Itani, Seiya Higa (lookout for the nose wheelie line at around the 2:16 mark, so good!). Good vibes from the underground japan scene, thanks to Yuki for letting the rest of the world see this.
Great footage from the recent Flat Games contest in Chiba, Japan featuring so much awesome riding in order from: Ryo Katagiri, Ryosuke Takagi, Nao Yoshida, Yorimitsu Miyata 00:48!!, Naoto Tamaru, Shinichiro Hara, Yasuhiro Uehara, Kazuma Nakajima, look out for the young ripper Takumi Isogai at around the 1:52 and the no handed spinning halfpacker whip halfpacker line at such a young age at 2:17, unreal! Masashi Itani, Keisuke Tanigawa, Naoki Watanabe, and Fumiya Kanna, great edit by Yasushi Kajiwala! Don’t sleep on this, underground japan at its finest, I believe Moto Sasaki organised this event. Thanks to Lee Musselwhite for the heads up on this one!
It’s been quiet across the globe the last few days, so I took a few days off updating the site. Psyched to see a new yukipkoproject edit filmed by Takaya Matsumoto first thing this morning, and as usual this does not disappoint. Toyosu Jam Vol.8 features Yosuke Shiozawa, Hiroshi Denton, Yuta Watanabe, Shu Umeda, Akira Horii, Takumi Suzuki, Koh Yoshida, Atsushi Kato, Masashi Itani, and Yuki Itoh (the line at 4:32 is so good!). Nice mix of established names and new talent coming through, this is Japan!
