Brandon Woldridge: FourPointNine

FourPointNine from brandon woldridge on Vimeo.

Brandon Woldridge just sent through his 49th birthday edit and a nice description to boot to kick start our Monday posts here on Flatmattersonline. Belated Happy birthday Brandon!

“This is FourPointNine, I turned 49 earlier this year. All of the indoor footage (at the Tiny Dome™, a/k/a my living room) was filmed recently during lockdown, with the final clip from last week at the tennis courts. Missed some time last year with back problems, but really glad to have sorted it out enough to be riding again…it’s still the best feeling.”

Episode 29: Flatmattersonline Exclusive with Amos Burke

YO!!

It’s time for episode 29 of the Flatmattersonline exclusives, and Amos Burke stepped up for the occasion. Dropping a nice bar flip fire hydrant line, filmed down in Hastings, here in the UK.

Amos just celebrated his 48th birthday last Thursday, happy birthday Amos!
Amos is infamous for his Backyard and S&M video sections back in the day, and Amos is still going strong.
Big respect to Amos for contributing, who’s got episode 30?

Dropping Wednesday 5pm, GMT….

Must Watch: Toon Pakphum goes Full Run Mode!

Many riders have toyed with the concept of a one combo contest routine, few can do it though. Toon Pakphum shows great calmness and consistency to get this done, the multiple stem-a-rangs body varial to halfpacker 2:15 into the line, is outrageous.

Under MK Format tuition, Toon shows no sign of slowing down even though the contest season is on hold. It’s definitely going to be interesting when the contest season restarts again, we will see a changing of the guard at the top of the sport? Toon is certainly knocking on the door, let’s discuss this one.
Great work Toon!

Throwback Thursdays with Yuki Itoh

Who remembers when this Yuki Itoh “Welcome to Far East Cycles” edit dropped in September 2016?… I met Yuki at Five Hiroshima, sadly he was there filming not riding. Is Yuki still riding?

Everything about this Yuki Itoh edit ruled and still rules four years on.

Riding wise, the riding and the intricate switches were pretty much all groundbreaking for the time. Here are some of my personal highlights:

– The opposite turbine steam boat ride in flip flip to yammer style backwards spinning xft steam step on fork back to steam turbine to xft fork spinning steam to opposite xft steam flip steam opposite side step into spinning cliff at 1:06! Are you following all that? Yuki’s style is so nimble around the bike, amazing!

– At 2:11 the turbine teakettle to spinning xft crack pivot spinning hang ten pivot opposite one footed spinning crack step over backwards facing one footed spinning ck jump to halfpacker pivot xft backwards spinning xft stream pivot steam to x handed spinning half hiker! Mind blown!

– The last line at 3:03! I will leave that one to you!

Props to Takuya Higa also for the camerawork, this edit makes me want to ride so bad! Job done! Respect Yuki, liquid flatland at it’s finest!!

Episode 28: Flatmattersonline Exclusive with Art Thomason

YO!!!

With the successful NASA ISS Space X Shuttle launch this past weekend, who better to launch into the 28th episode of the Flatmattersonline Exclusive than Mr NASA himself, Art Thomason!
Art is a long time Hoffman Bikes rider, and continues to progress his brakeless riding style at his riding spot at home in Texas.
Art tears this cliffhanger line a new one, with over a minute action packed switches and direction changes.. Really enjoyed this one, thank you Art for contributing to the culture.

Who’s got episode 29? Dropping Sunday 5pm GMT….

Reece Thomson: Welcome to FourpegsBMX

Sponsorship hook ups is not something we have seen much of in 2020, good to see Four Pegs BMX in Austria hooking up a grass roots riders from across the globe.
Reece Thomson from Edinburgh came through with this feel good welcome to Four Pegs part! Congratulations Reece on the hook up, looking forward to seeing more from him in the future.

Episode 27: Flatmattersonline Exclusive with Lindsey La’akea Bode

Aloha!!!

Lindsey La’akea Bode comes through with a solid 27th Flatmattersonline exclusive, half cab to stemlash flowing into a whole bunch of fast stem-a-rangs. Big thanks to Lindsey for stepping up, and filming this one along with Bobby Carter who filmed this episode. What a location to film at too!

Great response to my shoutout for more clips after the 26th episode, four riders have stepped up to contribute. So we will make to episode 30 without missing a beat!

Episode 28 drops on Wednesday, 5Pm GMT….
