“I start a new playlist videos to list tricks and help young riders to learn flatland.
There are 2 kids in my city that started BMX Flatland one year ago, and after learning steam roller, hang five, cyclone and megaspin they blocked and didn’t know what to do next. One of them felt in love with the Time Machine trick, every weekend he asks me to show him how to do.
I discovered that he knew only one way to go on the pedal, and when I show him some others he manages to do the trick. I did this video to show him different way to do time machine, and this video helped him, so i think it could be a good thing to share it.
The goal is to show to advanced beginners several variations of a trick, may be it will give them some ideas.
I plan to do the same with the common tricks like hang five, halfpacker…

If you didn’t know already, Battle in the Rockies was amazing! Dub’s video soaks up some of the Colorado vibes nicely, read on and hit play to see what went down, and also notice Dub won the contest, and didn’t include himself in his edit, this speaks volumes about the man!:
“Here is the IGI Flaternity edit, riders from all over the World converged on Colorado Springs to take part in Battle in the Rockies. We were all crashing at James McGraw’s house and Dez called it the Flaternity house, this edit is in the honor of all us riders jammin’ together and having a good time!
We tried to get as many runs as possible from as many riders, one run per rider featuring the likes of Thomas Noyer, Masashi Itani, Takuji Kasahara, Jason Plourde, Alex Jumelin, Benjamin Hudson, Chad Degroot, Dez Maarsen, Dominik Nekolny and Bobby Carter!”
Paul Chamberlain, Matt Wootton & Richie Spencer win Down Underground Round 2 Video Contest
I have been helping out judge Round 2 of the Down Underground series online, Shaun Jarvis kindly sent in the results and wrote down what’s going Down Under, good luck to all those making it to Round 3 this weekend in Melbourne! Congratulations to the winners, Richie Spencer, Matt Wootton, and Paul Chamberlain!
As we move into round 3 of DownUnderGround this weekend in Melbourne the results for round two – the video round are now in.
As Australia is a large country and travel can be expensive the DownUnderGround series has morphed from 4 physical contests into two contests (Sydney and Melbourne) and one video contest.
The video contest concept is simple, each rider gets to submit one contest video run, between one and two minutes long, as if they were riding at a flatland contest. The video run gets judged using the same criteria as a normal contest, difficulty, consistency and variety. Points are awarded and these points go towards the year end title. It was good to see some good riding going on all around Australia and a few juniors getting in there as well, something we hope to see more of.
The winners in advanced and pro will share in $400 worth of travel to the next DownUnderGround contest thanks to Freestyle Now and the other place getters will be receiving some great prizes from our long time supporter Colony BMX.
