Footage from the archives is flowing out it seems this week, and this morning we have the pleasure of watching one of the fastest riders in the game rip it up back in 1997 and take first place at the RPM contest in Buenos Aires, Argentina!

Chad Degroot – Hoffman Bicycle Stunt Contest / Chicago ’94
Up until today, I don’t recall seeing Chad Degroot’s full run from Hoffman Bicycle Stunt Contest at Scrap in Chicago. Don’t sleep on this, almost all the combos stand up still today! Absolutely amazing creativity and execution, respect!
Old School Sundays with Ross Smith
Danny Sirkin is building his amazing archive of old school contest footage, so much good stuff on his channel. Today I came across Ross Smith’s run from the 1989 War of Stars contest in Rochester, NY. Always a fan of Ross’ riding, awesome to see this. Style for miles.

Repo: Sport Zone Veresegyház Contest
Text: Rob Alton.
On November 24th we held our second major contest at Sport Zone Veresegyház. I worked really hard to improve on last year’s contest in all departments. Thanks to our main sponsors Magnetic, IPF Corner, DMKER, Elite BMX Shop and Sport Zone we raised 1000 Euro for Pro purse. I hoped it would help bring some top Pro’s here and it did! We had 12 Pro riders from 6 countries, including the kids and Amateur riders a total of 34 competitors!
Róbert Völler “Minerboy” our live DJ was running the rider routines which made my day a lot easier. We also added new podiums and sponsor wall for the prize giving.
I split School Class into A and B classes, because there is a good step up now from the kids who are really practicing a lot. Recent contests in Hungary have really helped to motivate them. The B class was great to see as some of the kids have only been riding 5-6 weeks and still wanted to take part. Emma Kriston one of two girls at the school got second place! There is a separate video for each category on Youtube.

1995 Mysterious Contest in San Bernardino, Ca from Adam Guild on Vimeo.
A nice treat for this weeks Throwback, Adam Guild was posted this amazing footage from the archives from the 1995 Mysterious Contest in San Bernardino, CA. Featuring the likes of Nikola Olic, Day Smith is on fire from the 7:28, Jesse Puente and his backwards tea kettle to hitch at 10:28, Nate Hansen, Sean McKinney and many more. So much good riding in this, well worth sitting down and watching this one.
Amateur & Pro – Sport Zone Verseny 2018 Highlights
With Sevisual behind the lens and Rob Alton on editing duties, here is the AM and Pro highlights video from the Sport Zone Verseny contest the other week over in Hungary with great riding from the likes of Dominik Nekolny, Martin Drazil, Matti Hemmings, Keelan Philips, Fülöp Vidakovich, and many more. Great to see grassroots events like these being so well attended, this looked like a lot of fun including the longest mega spin contest. Anyone dizzy?

Good morning everyone!
It’s the eve of 10 years of Flatmattersonline! Yesterday I posted the Sportzone results and Dom’s banger, this morning we have Dominik Nekolny’s winning flawless run with an insane difficulty level to boot! Big up Rob Alton for organising this event, great for the scene in Hungary and they get to see riders of Dom’s level in the flesh. I hope to have a little repo from the event in the next few days, stay tuned!
Grassroots Japan style – Kimero contest
As we approach 10 years of Flatmattersonline, one of favourite things about running the site is not knowing what is coming up content wise each day. This morning I came across this contest footage from Japan entitled “Kimero”. I know nothing more but the riding is self explanatory.
