West Coast 4130: 1993

Snakebite BMX just uploaded a lost gem from the archives, I feel like not many of you will have seen this video from 1993. West Coast 4130 documents the So Cal riding scene featuring sections from Edgar Plascencia (4:58), Sean McKinney (12:10), Day Smith (24:26), mixed section 29:26 featuring many more riders like Gabe Weed, Andrew Arroyo, Jesse Puente…. Plenty of time to kill at the moment, and this one is worth a watch and a trip down memory lane. West Coast style!

Navid Saleki: At my own pace

Navid Saleki is a name many won’t have heard from for a few years, really original rider with unique style of riding flatland. I miss seeing his edits actually, here’s what Navid had to say:

“As you know but many don’t past 6 years i’ve been living in Italy. Here i have discovered the thrills of Downhill riding which i did three years and came 13th in my class at the European championships and soon after i discovered Powered Paramotoring, The beauty of flight!
Which took lots of time but especially energy. This have made me ride different and less (noting) in the Flatland scene. Due to the current restrictions, Flatland saved my mental health once again! and this time i took the chance improving my editing skills and came up with this little “creation”,At my own pace.

We hope to see more Navid, I was happy to Hera that flatland helped his mental health.

Joe Cicman: Stay in your dome

Mr Terradome himself, Joe Cicman has been off grid for a long time. It turns out Joe has been putting in some work behind the scenes to get ready for the 2020 contest scene, and we all know what happened there. Joe just announced he joined up with Martti Kuoppa, and has been working on his mental strength, hit play and enjoy Joe’s amazing riding. Will be good to see Joe on the contest circuit in the future….

Aaron Frost: The Living Room

In confinement, it is amazing what creative minds can come up with. Aaron Frost hit me up with this “Living Room” edit he dropped in January 2007. The ender, backwards hitch pivot to x-fted backpacker pivot to hitch stands up today, and theres also a while of other crazy switches. All performed in Aaron’s Living Room, a timely edit to watch right now!

Must Watch: James McGraw & Pete Brandt / 50th Birthday Edit

James and Pete: 50 years flatland bmx from James McGraw on Vimeo.

People often ask me, “Effraim, why do you travel across the globe to ride in a car park (Parking lot)? Through my travels competing and visiting jams, etc, Pete and James have become two of my best friends in the flatland community. James and Pete both share the same birthday, April 10th (today), and James hired Jim McKay to put together this amazing 50th birthday edit that really captures not only amazing riding, but also the feeling and emotion behind what goes into flatland and our culture.

When people ask me that same question in the future, I will show this edit, and say these are two of best friends that I would never have met, but for flatland. Jim McKay did a great job putting this together and his professionalism gives this edit a movie like feel.
Not too mention having, Mark Eaton also contributing the soundtrack, I feel honoured to have contributed to this video with some footage of Pete shredding the Clocktower back in January.

Happy birthday James and Pete, thanks for all your do for flatland, and the inspiration over the years. This is truly awesome, go watch this now and soak in the flatland brotherhood experience!!!!
