One of my biggest inspirations growing up in BMX, was Jason Hassell! Jason could do it all, and do it with style and smooth as glass to boot. Jason gave me my first big break putting me on the Hutch team back in 1987. Here is Jason’s BMX Beat run from 1987, great run for the time right here. Nowadays Jason is a Hollywood actor, enjoy this one.
Okayama 2004 Subway Jam
A contest/jam in a subway? Grassroots Japan is the best, let’s go back to Okayama in 2004 featuring Yohei Uchino (That xft ride into crackpacker turbine at 1:58!), Akira Okamura and another rider I can’t get ID. Love this kind of footage.
Hiroya Morizaki: Future Diary #8
I don’t know what impresses me more, Hiroya Morizaki’s tricks or the fact he can throw these moves down on decking. Anyone who has rode a decking floor like this, knows this is super tough to do. Hiroya is one of the best to ever do it, and makes it look easy. Class.
Ederson Ferreira: Florida flatland
Two posts today, and both high quality. Brazilian shredder, Ederson Ferreira comes through with an awesome edit full of back wheel buttery filmed dusting his stay out in Florida earlier in the year. The switches Ederson throws down are not only effortless, but so easy on the eye. Some of the smmothest back wheel riding I have seen.
Minato Sato: Future Diary #7
No Flatmattersonline exclusive today, it’s all about the eFise and Master of Creativity online competitions currently. We do have a couple of awesome edits for you to stay hyped, Minato Sato is one hell of a flatland talent, hit play and watch the madness unfold. This kid has a bright future.
Episode 46: Flatmattersonline Exclusive with Kevin Arredondo Vasquez
YO!!
It’s time to get back on track with the Flatmattersonline exclusives after a short break last week. One of the main exciting things about producing these exclusives is not knowing who’s next to step up, and with the help of Robert Victoria… We have a fresh name to me, Kevin Arredondo Vasquez from Costa Rica!
Kevin comes through a smooth back line ending in the infamous Adam Kun no-handed lawnmower spin, I’m not sure what Adam calls it. Maybe the Kun spin?
Thank you Kevin for contributing, who’s got the next clip?
* Clips are currently run out, so if you want to feature here on Flatmattersonline send in your clip. Instructions how to do so, are at the end of each exclusive video.
Masato Ito: MK Format Full Run
One of the great things about how riders have handled this pandemic, is the amount of work going on behind the scenes to prepare when we get the green light. Masato Ito is so powerful, and puts together a great flowing run right here under the Martti Kuoppa tuition.
Old School Sundays with John Huddleston
Its been a couple of weeks without an Old School Sundays feature, let’s get back to it with some contest footage of John Huddleston ripping at the 1988 AFA Masters in Carson, California. Very little dead time in John;s riding, amazing flow and really exciting to watch.
FÜLÖP VIDAKOVICH – 2020
Hungary historically has produced some of the best riders in the European flatland scene, Fulop Vidakovich follows in the steps laid down by OG Martin, Adam Kun, Denes Katona the list goes on… This new edit put together by Sevisual, shows Fulop’s tricktionary, and there is real depth to his skills on the front and back wheel. Hit play!
Romulo Guerra: Europe 2019
Last year it was great to see Romulo Guerra over in Europe, Mizo Misael did great job putting this edit together and capturing Romulo’s style, and his trip over. Don’t miss this one!
