Must Watch: Viki Gomez / Training Session

Viki Gomez is looking dialled as he gets ready for the Chimera Games at the end of this month in Japan. Smooth and deadly lines in this Training Session at the Trier indoor skatepark riding spot.

Highlights:

00:23: Steam kick flip to right sided halfpacker (for a second) whip to left sided halfpacker pivot to opposite x-ft hitch. Technical as you like!

00:33: Hitch juggler to 360 bar flip steam fire hydrant to rollback to one kick rolling junkyard pivot peg wheelie bike flip to ice cream bike flip out.

1:44: Switch foot mega spin weaving side to side turbining, directly into a quick body varial backwards rolling two footed backyard switching to the opposite side switch foot peg wheelie, cream bike flip to switch footed lard yard full varial!

2:07: Perhaps my favourite line of the edit saved for last! Switch footed lard yard full varial to switch foot macaroni smith decade out!

Banging edit from Viki, who has definitely been putting in some work in the off season! Enjoy this one, hitting the rewind once again. Will this be a contender for edit of the year 2020?

Heading to the One Love Jam tomorrow!

Next Saturday it’s the 10th anniversary of the legendary One Love Jam in Newport Beach, California. Tomorrow I am flying out to San Francisco to ride with Pete Brandt for two weeks and hit up the One Love Jam. I once again cant thank Fred Gates, James McGraw and Pete, Karissa Brandt for making this trip possible.

Look out for updates from the trip from Tuesday onwards….

Old School Sundays with Tommy Simpson

Back on the Old School tip as I get ready to fly to California tomorrow. Let’s go back to the legendary AFA Masters in Carson, California at the Velodrome ’88. New England rider, Tommy Simpson was so underrated back in the day, loved this guys style since the 80’s and through the Radazine’ era. The double whiplash to elephant glide line at 1:24 is awesome!

Must Watch: Bruno Zebu / What 2019 brought to me

Bruno Zebu just put together this amazing highlights edit of his progression during 2019, and the technicality of what he’s doing is absolutely off the chart. Bruno is without a doubt one of my favourite riders currently, he deliberately cut this edit short so it’s easier on the eye and not as long. This edit took me a few watches to understand what was going on, so I will keep the description fairly short.

Highlights:

00:18: Spinning Switch Foot Hang Ten pivot to crackpacker pivot and jump to spinning circle k!

00:41: Bruno takes a trick that you normally see using the hand on bar whilst pivot and ups the difficulty and originality by choosing to take it off. Halfpacker pivot to opposite side two footed xft steam to xft hitch juggler. Mind blown!

1:28: Xft halfhiker pivot to halfpacker turbine pivot inside xft steam pivot steam, done at the blink of an eye.

The lines just keep coming, my mind is still a little blown watching this. Hopefully this year, we see a lot more of Bruno, one of the best flatlanders on the planet. Keep doing your thing Bruno!

It’s the 10th Anniversary of the One Love Jam Next Weekend

OneLoveJam2019 from OneLoveBmx on Vimeo.

Last year was my first experience of the One Love Jam, and can honestly say this was the best jam I have ever been to. Beautiful sunshine, Cali beach setting, awesome fast and huge riding surface, flatlanders and BMXers from all generations, whats not to like?

The 10th anniversary jam hype is building nicely, 1327 W Balboa Blvd, Newport Beach California is the venue, next Saturday (18th January is the date). Over 120 riders expected, I will be flying out on Monday. Looking forward to this, soak up the One Love Jam vibes in last years edit. See you there!
