Nice to see an edit out of Deco’s head honcho Chad Degroot this morning, from the backwards wheelie balancing knee on the seat (kneelie?) and the bar flip hang 10 to messiah. Really enjoyed this short edit, good stuff from Chad.
James White – Raw Lines
Raw footage from James White’s session yesterday filmed by Lincoln Blacksley, love the tyre slide switch foot steam move at 00:42!
Nick Watts – October 19th
You can’t stop Nick Watts at the moment, three edits already since Landscapes 3 dropped! So much as always to take in with Nick’s riding, a lot of details to enjoy in this one. And a great start to our week here on Flatmattersonline!
Review: Landscapes 3
Review: Effraim.
I am sure I write this every time I review a video, I feel it’s important to say it without trying to sound like a broken record. It really is a brave move to make an online video these days, especially if you are charging for it online. It’s quite common in skateboarding, but hasn’t filtered over to flatland really.
Landscapes 3 comes in at 1 hour 12 minutes long, I can’t even imagine how much working time that is for the creator, Stewart Munro putting all the pieces together, selecting riders going back and forth with riders gathering footage, picking the music to fit each rider, the list goes on.

Throwback Thursdays – Alexis Desolneux / Clandé
For this weeks Throwback Thursday, we have a nice treat from the archives that many of us have never seen. As Alexis Desolneux continues to document his video parts throughout his riding career, he just dropped this “Clandé” part from 1997.
Clandé Troupe was a little group of friends, BMXers and skateboarders who made videos during the late 90’s, they invited Alexis to be a part of their project. Enjoy this one where you can begin to see how Alexis started to develop his style….
Bruno Zebu – Advanced Pivotry
Short but oh so sweet clip out of one of Brazil’s finest, Bruno Zebu delivers a real gem right here. Watch this one!
Nick Watts – October 14th
Nick Watts keeps it fun with a backyard flatland/basketball session with his kids, summertime is arriving down under as we get ready for winter in Europe. Enjoyed this little change of pace from Nick.
Khaled Huerta – Sparkly Noise
Let’s kick off our Thursday posts here on Flatmattersonline, with a fresh Khaled Huerta clip. Love the ride in to this one.. Khaled is a machine!
Yohei Uchino – My Universe
Quick Diners Club promo edit with Yohei Uchino cruising the streets and popping a few flatland moves along the way, I see a little cameo with Dustyn Alt. Short and sweet….
Must Watch – Sebastian Grubinger / Faces of Vienna
I think it’s fair to say almost anything Sebastian Grubinger puts out is a Must Watch, his riding always has me shaking my head in a good way. And from the opening line with backwards facing manual back pedalling ET style I think to myself “Who else on the planet is doing this stuff?”, and as if that’s not enough he adds in a Degroot undertaker to backwards backyard and opposite Degroot undertakers out. Absolutely mind melting degree of difficulty here.
The second clip I thought I knew what was coming, and I love that I was wrong. Backwards facing messiah half backwards whiplash scuff to forwards bar hop whiplash bar scoot out. Again, who is doing this stuff.
At 1:29 the switch foot peg wheelie pivot entry to backwards backyard is one of the best switches I have seen all year. Simple idea, but yet so hard!
The last line is possibly my favourite from this short, but yet so incredible edit. Opposite Degroot undertaker to straddle roni out. There’s layers to what Sebastian is doing in this edit, that is just years and years of craft. This edit will be getting the rewind, and help me get through a rainy day in Southsea.
