At the 2017 BMX Cologne contest I caught up with 80’s Haro Flatland BMX legend Dave Nourie. We talk about his ordeal of getting to Cologne, his new Haro ride, stories from the 80’s Haro tours, his heartfelt responsibility to keep the old school alive in a new school era at contests, and a whole lot more. I even learnt that Dave did not invent the stubble duck which I thought was the case for years, this is a good one. Don’t miss it!

Sietse Van Berkel – 7th Place BMX Cologne 2017
One of my own personal highlights from the 2017 BMX Cologne was getting to see Sietse Van Berkel ride again. Qualified in 4th, ended up in 7th place in a stacked pro final is no joke at all! One of the freshest styles in the game right now, don;t sleep on this one and watch out for an amazing save towards the end of his run that had us all stoked and screaming!

Barre Neirynck – Linking Up Part 1
Solid new edit out of Barre Neirynck out of Geluwe, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. I especially liked the Pedal 5 line at 00:28 where Barre just keeps going and you think the lady in background will walk in the way but she doesn’t. Good stuff Barre, looking forward to Part 2 already…
Wolfgang Sauter – 6th Place BMX Cologne
It was great to see Wolfgang Sauter back in the mix this year at BMX Cologne, bringing his unique style back to the contest scene. Good vibes and great riding and foot control!
Jean William Prevost – 5th Place BMX Cologne
It was tense going down to the last rider to ride at BMX Cologne. I’ve had a bunch of copyright issues with the contest runs this time round, thankfully Kevin & Els was also on hand to document what went down. After one of the best qualification runs in recent memory it didn’t quite happen for Dub in the finals, 5th place and 2nd place in the 2017 World Circuit.

Saga no Run 2017
Let’s kick off our thursday posts with some more coverage from the underground Saga contest in japan. This edit was put together by Hidenori Ishizaki, who manages to capture the vibe and a ton of great riding to boot!
Catching Up with Sebastian Grubinger
During the BMX Cologne contest weekend I caught up with Heresy rider, Sebastian Grubinger to talk about the history of the BMX Cologne. We discuss his first experiences there, his riding spot back in Vienna Austria being made smaller, his opinion on contest areas being a rolling rider, the Heresy brand, his prolific posting on instagram, the importance of the video part and a whole lot more. This was a great catch up with Sebastian, good times in Cologne once again!
LVR Session 2017
Sessions at the infamous LVR riding spot are a big part of what makes the BMX Cologne event so special. Malte Orth met up with Gino Stuart and Wolfgang Sauter for a session, hit play to see what went down.
