Old School Sundays with Simon Stojko Falk

Sometimes the lines are blurred for me what is old school, mid school, and so on. This weeks OSS is dedicated to Simon Stojko Falk, he and his father used to document the European flatland contests so well (into full videos with the top three) in each class. Simon deserves a bit of attention himself, rad style! Check his run from the 97 Worlds in Eindhoven.

Giannis Caternellis – Freestyler #102

Giannis Caternellis is not one to shy away from going against the grain, I don’t recall the l recent edit I saw with a rider rocking a dual front brake set up. And Giannis wastes no time at all progressing, from Circle K kick flips, crackpacker body varial switches to halfpacker, there’s a lot to take in here. Keep on keeping on Giannis. Thanks for sharing!

Vienna Jam 2019 by Sevisual

VIENNA JAM 2019 from Sebastian Grubinger on Vimeo.

A friday treat for us all!
The annual Vienna Jam during the Argus Bike Festival at Vienna’s Rathausplatz is growing each year. Tom Sevisual was on hand to document the weekend, and by the look of it this was an absolutely amazing weekend including a contest, workshops helping kids, cash for tricks jams and plenty of happy faces. Keep a look out for Viki Gomez’s bike flip line at 2:16 is amazing! Big up Sebastian Grubinger and everyone who worked on the Vienna Jam, this is awesome!

Veres BMX Jam 2019 Amateur and Pro

Text and Video: Rob Alton.

It was a really great day, morning for the BMX Suli riders and afternoon for the Amateur and Pro riders. We had a good turn out and well motivate kids plus three dads too! The Suli riders pulled some tricks they never did before which was really great.

Amateur and Pro Class saw some new faces which is always good with an all “Hungarian” turnout. We saw some great riding and gave each class 25 minutes in JAM format to pull their best combo. This is a great way to show flatland to the new comers and give the riders more tries to hit their best combos. As you will see this really works and after all it is a JAM not a contest.

I tried Hang 5 Fast Track for the first time, this was a lot of fun and just to make it interesting we did some Freestyle Fast Track too. Hang 5 was basically the fastest hang 5 once round the track and the Freestyle was to find a hard trick to roll one round. Bunny Hop as usual and this time a McCircle Battle not Mega Spin. Zsoldos Andor from the BMX Suli riding less than 2 years got to the semi final! Szilagyi Marton took the Trophy which he was well stoked about!

All in all a great day and now I will prepare for our contest on November 23rd. We may have some big news coming about Sport Zone and as soon as I can confirm something I will let you know. Enjoy the videos and ride on!

Viki Gomez wins 2019 Vienna Jam

Vienna Jam 2019 was a blast. More than 30 riders from 16 nations made the trip to Austria’s capital Vienna to spend a weekend riding and chilling together.

Already on Friday some riders met at the well known Heldenplatz. The spot with the red/golden fence. Good vibes!

The official Jam started on Saturday morning with some workshops for kids. In the afternoon the Best Trick Contest went down. One minute for each rider to land his/her best trick. Level was really high and the huge crowd made the riders go nuts. Viki Gomez took the win with an amazing hard back wheel link including two bike flips. Gilles van der Sompel got second, followed by Gergely Szajer. Sick riding dudes!!! Fire!!!

Sunday kicked off again with workshops and shut down the official event with the Cash for Tricks jam. The level was crazy again and all riders showed the huge audience how amazing Flatland is.
After the official jam everyone went back to Heldenplatz to ride and chill till dark.

What a weekend! I can’t thank enough all the riders who made the trip to Vienna and all the locals who showed up and helped me to make that happen! You all make the Vienna Jam what it is! See you next year!

Matthieu Bonnecuelle – MB Autumn Winter 2019 2020

Matthieu Bonnecuelle has been one of the most famous underground BMX-Flatland rider in the past years but now, luckily for all of us, he is coming to the surface. Matthieu visited Madrid and cruised around filming his creative moves telling us which will be the upcoming trend for 2019/2020. Thanks to Alberto Moya for capturing this one in his own creative style.
