It’s that time, 2016 was a great year for Flatland. I’m sure I say that every year, but we evolve every year. This is one of the many great things about our art form/sport, it is one of the ingredients that fascinates us all.
The Nominees are as always fascinating, you the readers of Flatmattersonline have spoken once again, it is always interesting to see your views! I personally found the Rider of Year hard to pick just five, so I have six. I decided after much gnashing of the teeth, I would be just taking one rider out for the sake of it. Without further a due, below are the editorial and reader choice for the 2016 Flatmattersonline Year End Awards. Thanks to everyone that voted. Bene Pfriem – Backwards Manual World Record
It seems like Chad Kerley started something with that backwards manual across the infamous Huntington Beach parking lot in So. California. Bene Pfriem was driving past yesterday and saw the white van that marks where Chad got to, and had to try. Check out Bene’s attempt right here, so much bike control!
UK Flatland Championships dates confirmed!
Two dates for your contest calendar, Bike Expo Manchester 18th & 19th March and Wheels and Fins 9th & 10 September 2017 Joss Bay Kent here in the UK, follow the Facebook event pages (link below) and stay up to date with what’s going on in the UK Flatland scene. Dominik Nekolny took the win at the Wheels and Finns contest in Joss Bay, Kent and two weeks later, Alex Jumelin won the UK Champs at the Birmingham NEC and took home the European Flatland League title and gets the poster!
