The finals day at the UCI World Championships was a great day for flatland. The day started with Women’s flat and four riders knuckled down and give it their all, Irina Sadovnik was battling a knee injury and with the help of Trish and her medical skills she was able to ride. Sometimes when you are faced with a physical obstacle such as an injury your focus is heightened. The injuries were stacking up in China and kind of became one of the main topics of everyones discussions during the two week trip.

Lionel Cardoso on the MIC duties, and David on the decks. props to these guys who killed it throughout the series and the two weeks in China!

Fise Chengdu 2019 – UCI BMX Flatland World Cup Men Final

I just got round to watching the Fise Chengdu Mens Final, what a great end to the year for the Fise World Series. We had a different winner at each stop this year which really shows the level right now. This time it was Moto Sasaki’s day, taking his first win in 12 years of trying for him and Matthias Dandois finsuihed second with Dominik Nekolny in hid. It was enough for Matthias to take the year end title. When you have the time, it is certainly worth watching this final unfold. Amazing times in Chengdu, China.

Nick Watts – November 6th

I am still playing catch up after China, and what a way to start our Friday posts. You can count on Nick Watts who must have had more edits than any other rider this year. Back in the day I heard this style of riding referred to as “uprocking”, and it seems to ring true with Nick’s riding. Switching back and forth, almost at random and he’s reacting to the moment literally. Uprocking freestyle at it’s best, have you seen his amazing section from Landscapes 3 yet?

Marton Szilagyi and the Haro Masters

Marton and the Haro Masters from og pictures on Vimeo.

Marton Szilagyi goes back to his Haro Master roots and performs tricks from the Old, Mid and New School. Martin definitely as I call it “went to school”, as always with OG Marton’s videos great quality. and I would expect no less from one of the best riders to ever do it out of the European flatland scene. Great concept video. Respect!

Throwback Thursdays with Shinichi Kiba & Moto Sasaki

As I was looking for a throwback video today, “R” just dropped a video comment in the comments section on the site (thanks “R”) and I haven’t watch this edit in years so why not roll with it I thought too myself. Shinichi Kiba & Moto Sasaki warm up for the BMX masters contest back in 2008 edited by Alberto Moya, well worth a watch!

Flatland Immersion Podcast – Landscapes 3

Dusty Tweedhope catches up with Bobby Carter to review Landscapes 3, the new downloadable video from Stewart Munro and Simon O’Brien. This is a good one, where Bobby and Dusty talk about the issue of paying for a downloadable video.

The value of a full video, submitting footage and Stewart dealing with that, the rider list and most of the riders being under the radar. Great perspective from Bobby, who of course has done it all video wise, I loved the part where Bobby is talking about the culture of flatland and use of social media. This is a good listen whilst your getting on with your daily grind.

Peter Miklosi – Zürich Override

I am still playing catch up after my two week trip to China, and the next video up deserves a watch for sure. Peter Miklosi teamed up with fellow Hungarian shredder, Olivér Kállai to bring us this really well filmed “Zurich Override”. Peter now lives in Zurich and rides regularly with Dan Hennig, and has made a ton of progression as this edit shows. Peter kills the Brakeless smith decades and xft halfpacker/crackpacker lines in this one, really enjoyed this and I am sure you will do too.
