Episode 13: Flatmattersonline Exclusives with Rodolphe Clavelier

Welcome back, it’s that time of the week. It is time for episode 13 of the Flatmattersonline exclusives, I am loving the riders off their own back just getting in contact with fresh clips. Case in point, right here with French rider, Rodolphe Clavelier.
Rodolphe opens episode 13 with a super smooth hang 5 jumplash to steam without holding the seat and lands on the same foot, tough one and the line builds from there.

Thanks Rodolphe for contributing.

Who’s got the next clip? Same time next week….

Kevin Nikulski leaves Autum

BIG news today, and a surprise to me at least. Kevin Nikulski just announced on his instagram page, that he is leaving Autum. I would presume he has another deal set up, here is what Kevin had to say:

“Have to announce that I’m not longer apart of the Autum bikes and deepAutum…after almost 5 years. I decided to go a different way! Its tome for changes! It was a blast to represent the company and the time with the team was even better, a true fam. Thanks for everything, high five.”

Doesn’t sound like we will have long to wait on Kevin’s new sponsor, stay tuned!

Get well soon Joey Kyllo!

Today I wanted to send out a massive “Get well soon Joey Kyllo” from myself here at Flatmattersonline HQ, and I am sure I speak for the whole of the flatland community as well! Joey took an awkward fall whilst riding at his home riding spot in Vancouver, Canada. Drop a comment and let’s show Joey some Loe and much needed motivation during this difficult time. Here’s what Joey had to say:

“I broke my fibula and tibia in my leg. I wish I could say it was a crazy switch, but I was only doing a peg wheelie cross foot switch (inside to outside) when my leg caught on the seat and I fell backwards and my leg bent behind my back. I got a rod inserted in my leg yesterday and was discharged today (Tuesday 14th April). I should be back riding in about 4 months.”

Sportszone Go Fund Me: Can you help?

I was sad to hear Rob Alton lost his Sportzone riding spot in Hungary, and he hit me up with a go fund me page as he looks for another venue. Read on, if you can help him out, hit the link below!

“Hi guys! As most of you know we lost our venue for Sport Zone last month. We lost a great place which has hosted 6 awesome events with riders from all over Europe attending. The riders who have attended will know what I’m talking about!

More importantly to me we lost our BMX school, which had some great talent with riders ranging from 5-42 years old! They would like Sport Zone to continue and so do we, so I have made a GoFundMe page.
We plan to invest and build our own place, but we need help for the initial start up.

If you can and would like to support our project here is the link. Please remember every little helps including the small donations. Thank you Rob Alton and the Sport Zone family.”

Navid Saleki: At my own pace

Navid Saleki is a name many won’t have heard from for a few years, really original rider with unique style of riding flatland. I miss seeing his edits actually, here’s what Navid had to say:

“As you know but many don’t past 6 years i’ve been living in Italy. Here i have discovered the thrills of Downhill riding which i did three years and came 13th in my class at the European championships and soon after i discovered Powered Paramotoring, The beauty of flight!
Which took lots of time but especially energy. This have made me ride different and less (noting) in the Flatland scene. Due to the current restrictions, Flatland saved my mental health once again! and this time i took the chance improving my editing skills and came up with this little “creation”,At my own pace.

We hope to see more Navid, I was happy to Hera that flatland helped his mental health.

With all the in-depth articles recently on the site, I felt it was time to bring back the “Last Times” feature that is intended to be something quick and snappy. Something you can scan over really quickly, and get back to your riding session. Up first, Alberto Moya!
