Joe Cicman is always quite the creative thinker, and besides re-upping his edit from 2017. He is also highlighting some of the clips on their own, will this catch on and others start doing this. It’s kind of like an instagram post, but on YouTube.

Nick Watts: 1991
Kicking off our Wednesday posts, Part 3 of Nick Watts back in 1991!
Look out for the opposite hang 5 step over to right side halfpacker around the 1:08 mark, and the x-foot on the cross bar one handed hang 5 at 2:24! Well worth giving this a watch, and get inspired for your session.

Episode 32: Flatmattersonline Exclusive with Paul Chamberlain
YO!
Welcome back to Flatmattersonline exclusive clips, today we feature British ex pat, Paul Chamberlain. Paul made the move down under, as he was reaching pro level here in the UK. When Paul left, due to our small scene, you really noticed Paul’s absence from the UK scene. Not only with his riding, but his enthusiasm, and general charisma.
I’m only always stoked when Paul comments on the site, and puts in his two cents, it was likewise great when he contacted me with a clip which he commented he learnt during the pandemic.
Paul comes through with a nice switch foot backwards ice cream pivot to two footed dump truck for the 32nd episode, thank you Paul for contributing.
Who’s got episode 33, dropping Wednesday. 5pm GMT.
Dan Hennig: Fall Forward
I’m not normally a fan of slo-mo clips in flatland, let alone a full slo-mo edit… But this “Fall Forward” hits the spot, nice narrative and amazing production to it, as well as Dan’s amazing riding to boot. Fully enjoyed this!
Viki Gomez: Worlds 2004
Another good upload from TJ Perry, this time its Viki Gomez jamming at the Cologne Wolrds 2004. KGB nostalgia in full flow right here, and love these raw edits that really capture the vibe of the riding and the evening sessions at the flatland tent in Cologne. Legendary.
Vivaasia
So many great videos documenting the scene in Japan that either pass through the FM firewall or just never reach us. Vivaasia is one of this evideos, thanks to TJ Perry for uploading this one. Great sections and riding clips from the likes of Kotaro Tanaka, Ryoji Yammamoto, Akira Okamura, York Uno, Yoshihiro Shinde and many more. At 24:40 long, grab a cuppa and enjoy this one.
Chase Gouin: Flatland Show at the bar
During this pandemic, it has definitely been a good time to watch older edits and get ideas/motivation for the riding sessions. Here is something a little different from flatland god, Chase Gouin performing a flatland show at Phog Lounge circa 2006/2007. Such a tight space, but with Chase’s tricktionary it’s not a problem.
Jean-Francois Boulianne: The Southern Escape / The story behind a Must Watch!
Intro/Interview: Effraim.
Photography: Matthieu Metivet, Simon Warsan, Jean-Francois Boulianne.
This past winter, Jean-Francois Boulianne made his travels south to Peru and Colombia to avoid the harsh cold Canadian winter.
No one could have anticipated the Covid 19 pandemic that was to follow, and JFB has held onto this edit for a couple of months.
When Jean first hit me up with the edit, I asked what he had been up to during the winter, as I had seen a few posts on social media and was curious what his story was, and he seemed to be away from home for a long time.
After a few conversations back and forth, it became apparent to me that I should showcase this amazing edit a little differently than your normal Must Watch video breakdown.
Without further ado, it’s time to learn a little more about Jean’s travels and enjoy this edit, as the story goes deeper than just tricks, and captures for me what BMX is all about….
Nick Watts: June 19th
Total freestyle as always from the man, Nick Watts to start our Friday posts! Even using. one of his garden trees to keep the line going at 00:52… Nick rules!!
