US National Championships! Bentonville Bike Festival: June 17/19th
I am excited to announce The First Annual US National Championships of Flatland BMX at the Bentonville Bike Festival in Bentonville Arkansas on June 17th – 19th. This Championship will be sanctioned by USA cycling and the UCI.
Bentonville Bike Festival is an awesome event celebrating all of bike riding disciplines and we are proud to have Flatland be a part of this event.
A $5,000 Pro purse will be provided and USA riders will have an opportunity to attain a national ranking with the UCI.
I am looking forward to seeing my fellow USA BMX Flatland riders together at one contest, showing strength and a brotherhood that’s unmatched. BMX Flatland started in the USA this is our opportunity to show the world what it means to us all.

As I mentioned on the FM awards show, Breakthrough Rider of 2021 Varo Hernandez was working on a Welcome to Flybikes edit with Rafael Black and this doesn’t disappoint. Great riding with signature Varo smoothness, nice mix of locations, and quality filming and editing. Loving the last line at the 3:08, which takes unexpected twist. Great watch!

Episode 23 of the Hang 5 podcast just dropped featuring Lee Musselwhite from here in the UK. Really enjoyed this episode, where Lee discusses his riding roots in Torquay, the impact of attending the King of Concrete event and later on the Portimao Worlds in 1998, his sponsorship history, running Inertia, his riding philosophy, coaching under Martti Kuoppa and while lot more. Red Bull Bike n Mic Show Battle in Luxembourg:12th & 13th March
Together with www.ggmimage.com we wanted to bring together the amazing energy of Bike N Mic ( BMX & Hip Hop ). I traveled the world during the past 22 years and when I do shows I include the competition tricks because this defines me as an athlete. It happened very often that there was a lot of magic in these moments!
Therefore we thought on bringing together the amazing line up of riders who can deliver both: an amazing show skills connecting with the crowd and epic competition tricks to let everyone with a WOW.
The public will vote with an app that measures the decibels. So riders need to connect with the crowd and still deliver amazing tricks! It’s a big challenge full of good vibes! All riders win as they will have their own time on their demand.
But don’t forget they are warriors and they will fight for the Podium! We will have one contest on Saturday and one on Sunday.
It’s a new concept and we can’t wait to see the results!

It’s time for Episode 82 of the Flatmattersonline Exclusives and boy is it a good one. I will go as far as saying Renz Viaje just dropped the best clip of the year so far!
This exclusive came about after Renz dropped the bike flip to two footed pedal ice cream catch on his instagram, I hit up Renz and said how about flip in flip out for a FM exclusive.
A couple of days past, and Renz said after three hours trying he got it! Insane!

Hello everyone!
It’s time for episode 81 of the Flatmattersonline Exclusives, today we have a nice one from flatland lifer Rob Alton!
Rob comes through with what I guess you would call one and a half hangglider to mccircle double decade out! Double decades are one of the best feeling tricks in the game, when you stomp a good one there’s nothing like that feeling.
Rob has multiple decades on lock, and is doing great things for the flatland scene in Hungary with his Sportzone facility, teaching lots of kids flatland skills.
Later in the year, Rob will hosting the annual Sportzone contest, get there if you can!
