Landscapes Review

Review: Effraim.

DVD’s in the modern era are a sad rarity in our scene from my perspective, during the last two years you can count those on less than one hand. Dane Beardsley’s Same thing daily project and IGI’s travel video are all we have had. Stewart Munro from Australia stepped up to the plate with an ambitious project to collect and edit together rider sections from all the planet, when you think about that in the modern internet culture and free edits available everyday it almost seems like a thankless task.

Thankfully Stewart stuck to the task which being so far away from all the other riders is I can imagine a tough task to collate together. The downloadable video straight to your laptop is catching on in other sports such as Skateboarding, more recently massive companies such as Adidas are releasing their projects for a small fee online. Will it catch on to what is essentially a small flatland audience? Only time will tell…

Mik Penar 2016 Flatland

Today it seems I’m playing catch up on a whole bunch of edits I missed. Mik Penar sent in his latest video and a nice description too:

“I’ve been working on this edit for the past month or two and finally its here! This edit was filmed in multiple locations across Ireland and Poland. Its great to document your riding and see your own progression over time, and looking back at my last edit from two years ago I can’t believe how much I’ve progressed. And I can’t wait to see what level I’ll be at in another two years. I’ve been back riding BMX for around three and a half years now, this is my passion.”

Bill Nitschke – 22 Day Double Decade Challenge

I’m a day late posting this edit Steve Mulder posted of Bill Nitschke’s 22 Day Double Decade Challenge! Here’s what Bill had to say about this fun idea:

“10/10 2016 WORLDWIDE DOUBLE DECADE DAY is officialy here. Thanks to Brett Downs for this great idea! The History of this trick with me is DEEP!!! This is my favorite trick. If you’ve been following me this last month, then you may have seen my 22 days of Double Decades. This idea started out at 5:30am on September 1st when I read a post by my cousin, Bradley Ford. It was the song September, by Earth Wind and Fire and I remembered it was my birthday month. So, jamming out in my garage I decided I needed a goal. It popped in to my head (like the Stay Puft Marshmellow Man from Ghost Busters), 22 days of Double Decades!!! At this point I didn’t realize I was going to be doing 22 different variations, but just wanted to do 1 a day until my 46th birthday on the 22nd.”
