A contest/jam in a subway? Grassroots Japan is the best, let’s go back to Okayama in 2004 featuring Yohei Uchino (That xft ride into crackpacker turbine at 1:58!), Akira Okamura and another rider I can’t get ID. Love this kind of footage.

Around mid-day Friday, myself and Pete set off for the long drive to Los Angeles for the 10th anniversary of the One Love Jam in Newport Beach, California. We met up with Dylan Worsley about an hour out of SF, and travelled down with Dylan. Like last year, we stayed about an hour outside of Newport Beach, in Corona at Robert Castillo’s house. Friday was a full day of travelling, and when we arrived full party mode was in full effect, we were greeted by Robert, his wife Stephanie, Ruben, EZ Chris, and Bill Nitschke.
It’s the 10th Anniversary of the One Love Jam Next Weekend
OneLoveJam2019 from OneLoveBmx on Vimeo.
Last year was my first experience of the One Love Jam, and can honestly say this was the best jam I have ever been to. Beautiful sunshine, Cali beach setting, awesome fast and huge riding surface, flatlanders and BMXers from all generations, whats not to like?
The 10th anniversary jam hype is building nicely, 1327 W Balboa Blvd, Newport Beach California is the venue, next Saturday (18th January is the date). Over 120 riders expected, I will be flying out on Monday. Looking forward to this, soak up the One Love Jam vibes in last years edit. See you there!

Burd Phillips was on hand to document some of the action from this weekend’s MidWest Jam featuring Austin Luberda, Ron Monis, Andy Cooper, Chris Armstrong, Jake Jackson, Anthony Schneidewind, Andy Cooper, Burd Phillips, Marty Clark and more. Good vibes from the Q skatepark in Indianapolis.
Umikaze JAM 2019 Open & Expert Class
Great edit from a windy Umikaze Jam featuring the Open and Expert Class Top3. Look out for a wild teakettle ride out at 1:57 that I have never seen before, and Kio Hayakawa’s backyard turbine jump out to pedals at 3:03!
