Sportzone Contest: November 7th

Looking for a contest to compete at? Rob Alton is hosting the annual Sportszone Contest on November 7th in Hungary, a country with a deep flatland history of amazing riders coming through the ranks. This looks like a good one, read on….

“On November 7th Rob Alton and Sport Zone SE will be hosting the Hungarian Championships and as in 2019 it is open to all international riders too. Sadly, this year no prize money for the Elite Class but the great news is that it will be held in a shopping center in Budapest with open practice on Saturday 6th afternoon into early evening and the contest on Sunday 7th. The categories are Junior (Under 14), Girls (all ages), Amateur and Elite. There will be a new version of “King of Spin” and Best Trick for each category. Elite Best trick has 30,000ft (100 Euro) prize money donated by Miklosi Peter from Hungary.

This is a great opportunity for Flatland in Hungary and hopefully a start of a contest series in 2022-3. So, we hope for a good turn out and a fun 2 days of riding in Hungary’s capitol.
Registration is open until October 31st and any International and Elite riders will be photo featured on our Instagram page.”

Must Watch: James White / Systems Overload

I wasn’t joking a few moments ago on Peter Olsen’s Must Watch trick that it’s a good day for edits here on Flatmattersonline! James White once again comes up with a solid part, that explores a lot of really intricate two wheel on floor boomerang type moves, his amazing stalled switch-b (no -handed no less!), and a whole lot more.
The editing, tune, and the genius of Whiteski once again deserves that Must Watch tag. The MW firewall is breached today.
It’s time to go riding….

Must Watch: Peter Olsen / Upside Down Walkover

If you are on instagram, you will have already seen this amazing line that has been a few years in the making. A dream trick that Heresy’s Peter Olsen makes a reality after a few years digging deep to get this done, it’s a good day for edits here on Flatmattersonline.

Take a bow Peter, this deserves some love from the flatland community!

Rest in Peace Lee Edwards

A few weeks ago, the sad news Flatland lifer, Lee Edwards passed away broke online. I asked his good friend, Hector Garcia to write something for the site to remember Lee by. Rest in peace Lee, thinking of all family and friends during this terrible time.

Lee Edwards. August 27, 19 – Sept 30, 2021.

It was Sept 30th, around 10am, and I was getting ready to head out the door for a barber appointment. After showering I see that I missed several calls from Jesse, my friend Lee’s oldest son. I immediately feared the worst, after learning the night before that Lee had been in the hospital for almost 2 weeks. I quickly return Jesse’s call and those fears were confirmed. “My dad’s heart just stopped, along with some other complications, and they’re trying to revive him”, Jesse shared. I immediately jumped in my truck and made my way to the hospital.
