The Chimera A-side finals will go down as one of the best contests I have been to, the level of riding during the finals in particular was absolutely off the charts. There were some heated battles during that journey to decide the winner, Yu Katagiri and that 360 bike flip line at the end showed no mercy. Laying it all on the line for the 100k prize money. Flatland needs more of this… cracking edit that needs to be watched, congratulations also again to Carin Hommura, winner of the Womens class!!

Hello everyone!
** As some of you will know, I like to do day to day repos whilst I’m away judging events. I have already a lot of questions about a livestream, I will do my best to answer those in the next few days before the contest goes down!
In this episode of Flat System, Dub catches up with IGI team mate, Benjamin Hudson from Chile to discuss how Benjamin got into riding, travelling, the Covid situation in Chile, the Chile flatland scene, leaving Red Bull, and a lot more. When you have an hour spare, sit down grab a cuppa and enjoy this one!
Jean William Prevost aka Dub is back with the fifth episode of the Flat System podcast, where he discusses issues travelling from Canada for the UCI Worlds, the new IGI RiRi stem, & Far East Ti parts. Good stuff Dub, this is so needed in the scene.
Jean William Prevost aka Dub just dropped the latest Flat System episode, Dub discusses the Jeep Real Games, the Flatmattersonline year end awards, the future of Flatland with the impact of Covid, the emergence of street brands in flatland, and some product news to boot! Well worth grabbing a cuppa, and enjoying what Dub has to say! Good work!!
It’s time to announce the winners of the 2020 Flatmattersonline Year End Awards, 2020 was a difficult year for everyone. Flatland as a community rallied together to make the best of these difficult, testing times.
We saw riders focus more on edits rather than contest placings, as a result perhaps the rate of progression was a lot greater than previously would be, those that wanted to compete took part in numerous online contests, and in between all that the FM exclusives made to 60 episodes in 2020.
What the future holds is unclear currently, the vaccines are getting out there, and we hope to know more by spring time which really isn’t that far away.
Let’s try, and remain positive and make the best of every situation.
Congratulations to all the winners!!!
Without further a due, let’s get into the show!

It’s time as promised to announce the 2020 Flatmattersonline Year end awards nominations,
I felt there was a lot to say about the awards and the year, which a lot of the time doesn’t get covered under the previous text announcement format.
So, I attempted to make a makeshift studio feel in my front room during lockdown 3.0, and present the nominations, and share my feelings on the year as well as the reader choices.
Congratulations to everyone who was nominated, and thank you to everyone who took the time to vote.
Winners announced: Sunday 24th January.

As we reach the final part of my Decade of Flatland article, the opinions are nicely varied. Opinions are just that, opinions (we all have one)…., we are at a healthy point in the progression of flatland where new tricks are shown almost weekly on instagram, and pretty much periodically, via video parts that are shown on the site.
For me, it doesn’t matter about your bike set up, brakes or brakeless. What matters is that your out there doing it, and living the culture of flatland and contributing something. For this final part I catch up with the boss Martti Kuoppa, Lee Musselwhite, and Jean William Prevost. All three riders, have massively contributed to the artform side of flatland, video parts, contests, and also the industry side of things too. Grab a cuppa, and enjoy this final part…
